Are you a techy and love all things in Epcot or not a techy and still love all the attractions, or could you take it or leave it.

What are your thoughts on Epcot,
1. what do you like best.
2. what dont you like.
3. Which world showcase country most appeals to you and why.

Loved Epcot

1. what do you like best = Tapestry of Dreams & IllumiNations
2. what dont you like = some of the rides are tacky, like Maelstrom and the "so called" humour in the ride where the seats split apart
3. Which world showcase country most appeals to you and why = Japan - not sure, just liked the themeing etc

We really enjoyed it, from the first glimpse of the Golf Ball and the ride inside (Spaceship Earth) to see the Earth from the top, when the music played I was hooked. Could have spent a fortune in MouseGear, adored Honey I Shrunk the Audience and the spouting water jets outside it, the first proper glimpse of the lake at World Showcase was awe inspiring. Test Track - brilliant. The kids making their Dream Catcher masks. I would have liked to have had more time just browsing in the shops etc, but with children that's just not possible. And we missed the Beaver Tails, shame. Off Kilter were great.
And then, to top it all - the parade - THE PARADE . . changed me forever . . the emotions were truly unbelievable, I've got to go back one day just to see this and the fireworks - IllumiNations - never seen anything quite like this before.
Epcot is a fantastic place - and that's what I like about Orlando in general; all the Theme Parks are SO different to each other.

Being a Techy, I love Innoventions and have seen a great improvement in this area in the last few year. It's now much more kid friendly.

I personally cant stand the world showcase, having done it so many times.

Just as a bit of fun. Go into ICE STATION (Where you can get free drink samples from all over the world) and try the ITALIAN drink. "Paint Stripper"

I love it all. It's the only park we ALWAYS visit.

I love Spaceship Earth

I love the musical fountain (could watch that all day and it keeps you cool)

I detest the Ice Station (how can people drink that muck!!!!!!.

The Nestle building is brilliant and the Lion King film there is one of my favourites.

Sorry folks you can keep your Magic Kingdom!

I love Epcot...

I think that my favourites are Tapestry of Dreams/Nations and of course Reflections.

Also, love doing Test Track in the dark at night - wickkkkeeeddd.

Ice Station Cool is brilliant as well, just love the Japanese Vegibura (sp).

What I don't like is people smoking outside of the smoking areas - sorry just a bug bear of mine.

Fav world - Mexico, just like the gentle ride.

love it, love it, love it....

not sure if it's my favorite,  or Magic Kingdom - I can't imagine not visiting both parks many times on a trip.

1. what do you like best.
Illuminations,  from the lakeside tables at Rose and Crown was just amazing,  even better than the cruise we did, although that could be because we did it before the cruise.  It was just the most magical experience.
2. what dont you like.
Not that fussed on Innoventions
3. Which world showcase country most appeals to you and why.
not sure if I can pick just one.  This year we discovered Mexico, somehow we passed it by last year,  and I really liked that. Katie loved that little ride,  and I liked the atmosphere and how it felt like twilight all day. Also loved Japan and the meal we ate in the Tappanyaki,  I have very fond memories of the Hofbrauhaus in Germany from when I was there in high school,  but my all time favorite memory is the Rose and Crown for Illuminatoins - we just had such a brilliant evening.

I don't understand people who say 'Epcot is boring'  to me it is brilliant - I love Future World,  those are my kind of rides,  sit in a little car and get shown interesting things,  I'd much rather do that then drop 10 floors in Tower of Terror.  We really like Spaceship Earth,  and the new version of Imagination with Figment is really good too.   We like to spend an afternoon in FW,  it seems that most people visit in the morning,  so it is always really quiet in the afternoon,  other than Test Track we've never really seen a line in Epcot.  Another reason I love it.

DH's favourite Park.
Best bit is illuminations-have seen many different versions over the years but still get a big thrill from watching.
Like the shopping - the best selection of goods in any of the parks IMHO.
DH loves the Drummers in Japan. We also saw a girl making sugar animals on a stick which she gave to the children. They were amazing!
The Garden at the side of the UK Pavillion is a good place to rest the feet but DD always insists on buying a chocolate bar at an astronomic price-more money than sense!

1. what do you like best - The whole of the world showcase. You can find something different each time you go around it. Lots of lovely food, especially when the food and wine festival is on.

2. what dont you like - Not bothered about innoventions but I like the rest of future world. (especially Mousegear)

3. Which world showcase country most appeals to you and why- Hmmm, hard one to answer. I love Mexico for the night time market, and I'm determined to eat in there one year. I like the performers in Canada and the UK and the shops in Japan and Italy.......
No sorry, I can't pick a favourite.

Epcot's my favourite park.  I love the World Showcase and can just wander round there for hours.  I like to get the boat over to The Boardwalk for lunch.  I don't have a favourite country in World Showcase or a favourite attraction.  I just love it all and even more so now I can have time out in the AP lounge.  2 more weeks to go.

Done the others best do this one to:

1. what do you like best.
Test Track, illuminations

2. what dont you like.
Some of it is a little boring, like innovations

3. Which world showcase country most appeals to you and why.
Loved the ride in Norway (i think that is where it was).  All the other countries have these great landmarks and England gets a PUB!!!!!  What are they trying to say &nbsp
The first time i went to Epcot I was pretty bored but last year was much better, really enjoyed it.  Was there hours and my feet killed

1. What do you like best: Spaceship Earth, World Showcase, Illuminations and the Tapestry of Dreams parade - all excellent.

2. What dont you like: The Living Seas - this used to be really good once but has really gone downhill recently - I find it a bit boring and naff after Seaworld now!

3. Which world showcase country most appeals to you and why: Mexico - I love the look of the pyramid, from the outside as well as inside, it has a great atmosphere and is always buzzing! I love Canada now, but this could be because we had a lovely meal in Le Cellier last December- very nice!

What are your thoughts on Epcot,
1. what do you like best.
We both love Spaceship Earth and I have a soft spot for Honey I shrunk the Audience.  We also rate the Tapestry Of Dreams and Illuminations as truly amazing spectacles.
2. what dont you like.
Nothing
3. Which world showcase country most appeals to you and why.
We love most of the countries as being microcosms of the countries they are supposed to represent ??? I have just read this and it sounds gobbledigook but I hope you understand what I mean.  As a result of this years’ holiday, we have a particular soft spot for Japan as we had a remarkable meal and would highly recommend anyone goping to have a meal in the Teppanyaki dining.

It's funny, I'm an IT manager, but don't consider myself a techy. DH says I'm just delusional. &nbsp
Epcot is our favourite park.
What do you like best.
Illuminations is #1, and the whole World Showcase is the draw for us.
I don't like that World Showcase only opens at 11:00 am.
All the countries are great, impossible to pick one favourite.

Just bumping this old thread to get some more input to it as it will be connected to the web page for this park

Anybody else have preferences for this great park?

I loved the World Showcase, Mission Space, and the layout of the park which feels more open than the other parks. I was disapponted that it looked like it had been neglected in areas such as in the golfball when you come off the ride a whole abandoned area boarded off, the pant of some of the buildings (except world showcase) was in need of a repaint, the Inoventions areas seemed to have many gaps and boarded off areas and The sea and land pavilions needed some updating which they seemed to be starting on in the land one. When I went in May they did seem to be doing something of these things like painting the building where figment is. But overall it is my fav park because it doesn't seem to rush you around as much its got a slower pace.

1. what do you like best. TEST TRACK WAS GREAT AND I ALSO LOVED THE LIVING SEAS. ILLUMINATIONS WAS AMAZING.

3. Which world showcase country most appeals to you and why. MY FAVOURITE WAS MEXICO - IT WAS JUST SO COLOURFUL AND I LOVED THE MARKET INSIDE THE PYRAMID. VERY COOL.

1 What do you like best - this is my fav park, so hard to say - Tapestry of dreams, I think - first time we went, we did Epcot on first full day, nd DS - aged 7 at the time - took my hand at the end of the parade, and with huge eyes asked me if it was all a dream - one of my best memories
2. What dont you like - the fact that the rest of the family wont let me spend 4 or 5 full days there!!!

3. World showcase - I find the section on Wales in the G.B section so funny - nd I love the shops in Japan nd China

I Loved Epcot

1. what do you like best = IllumiNations and SpaceShip Earth

When we visited in 1998 and DS was ony 7, it was not our best park.

In 2004 when DS was 13, it was by far the best park.

:D :D

So going by the 2004 visit:

1. what do you like best.

The Living Seas. I'm a Pisces and anything underwater appeals to me. My favourite animal is the manatee - there is something endearing about an animal that is so slow, moss gross on it!

:wink

Mission Space. Although I made good use of the sick bags :( , I have to admit it was the most sensational ride I have been on.

2. what dont you like.

Not much really. The only downside is there is alot of walking, but there is no way I would want that changed as it's the layout of the park which makes it so appealing. You just have to make sure you keep 2 full days to explore properly.

:wink

3. Which world showcase country most appeals to you and why.

All of them! DH loves Japan, DS loves Mexico, DSS loves the UK and my favourite is Canada, - no Morrocco, - no Norway. Oh I can't choose! I love them all........

 :jump: :jump: :wink

Likes - Test Track, Living Seas & Honey I shrunk the Audience.... really looking forward to Mission Space and Soaring.

Dislikes - Not too much however the French film was a load of rubbish & the Mexican ride (Rivers) wasn't all that.

World Showcase - Has to be the UK surely!!??!! Nice to have a lovely pint of Tennants extra... watch the fantastic illuminations and boogie to the Beatles tribute band.... superb!!

Absolutely my favourite park.

I love the light up pavement and the fountains - and also the fact that it fells 'open' with lots of spaces to move around in

I don't like the amount of money my kids spend in MouseGear

I like going round the world in an afternoon.... don't like Germany, love Italy, UK makes me laugh (but love the BEatles concert) USA moves me, especially the WTC flag..., Norway has to be experienced to be believed - is Maelstrom meant to be a SERIOUS ride???

Also mildly amused by the preaching approach in the Universe ride, presented by Exxon - pots and kettles, perhaps?

I  EPCOT.

Mexico is my favourite country, so romantic inside by the boat ride.

Soarin' is amazing, so glad we got to ride it in April.

Tapestry of Nations was breathtaking and the music still makes me well up, and Illuminations also makes me cry.
