We are going to California for Easter but on our last day we need to check out of our hotel in San Diego by 10am but do not need to check in at LAX until 6pm. Since we will have all the luggage with us we cannot just leave everything in the car to do an attraction.
1) Is there anyway of checking in early even if this means going to the airport and then going elsewhere to lose the luggage.
2) Any other suggestions as to what we could do?
thanks

I'm sure most hotels have a secure room you can leave your things in for the day.
I certainly wouldn't recomend going to LAX to early as it's quite a boring airport. Not much to do there while you are hanging around.

Thanks maybe we will have to see if the hotel will hang on to the luggage and pop to Seaworld for a final visit as we will have a 14 day ticket anyway.

We had the same thing a couple of years ago and we decided to visit the Queen Mary on the way to LAX. You park right outside the ship in a barriered car park with a security man on the gate, we left all the luggage in the car (clearly visible through all the windows) and it was fine, no problems at all. We even left the car there and went to the Pacific Aquarium place next door as well.
If your not happy doing that then check with your airline and see if you can check in the luggage earlier. As previously said there isn't a great deal at LAX, we tend to check in and then go back out of the airport and into the other terminal to eat as there are a couple of better eating places there.

If you can leave your cases at the hotel, you could go to Coronado for a few hours, lunch at one of the many restaurants there or/and have coffee and cakes from the lovely bakery at the hotel Del Coronado, walk along the beach.... its a lovely place to spend a few hours.

I don't know about your luggage thing I'm afraid, but I thought I'd share what Matt and I like to do on our last day. During the holiday, we have a budget of what we can spent each day. Whatever we don't spend, we put in an envelope so that on our last day, we can shop 'til we drop. We had a fab last day at WDW at Downtown Disney buying up useless souveniers and gifts for friends and family. The a last yummy meal at our favourite restaurant of the holiday.

San Diego Zoo, the largest in the world, is nice. We spent a good few hours wandering around and it is not too far from the city centre.

I have to agree with this. LAX is terrible. There are only a few rubbish shops and a few very over priced restaurants.
