Hi,
I stayed at the Marriott Marble Arch with work just before Christmas, it's a lovely hotel and very central. I think my room just had a double bed but I'm sure they would put in a put-me-up bed or whatever if you asked them, it was a fairly big room for a London hotel.

We've booked the new Travelodge in Covent Garden, they offer a family room with one kingsize bed and a sofa bed. Covent Garden is really central & booking in advance online we have booked for two nights during Feb half term for £26 per room per night. I'm not expecting luxury, but Travelodge are usually fairly good & it leaves more in the pot for spending!
Hi,
As with most major cities, the closer to the center the more expensive rooms become as a rule of thumb.
Travelodge, Travel inn etc are great budget accomodation but can get booked up really quickly by business users etc.

Hi
We are staying at the Strand Palace in February as going to see Mary Poppins for my birthday. We have a triple room (3 adults) and its cost us £44 each per night.
Try the Premier Travel Inn at County Hall - next to the London Eye. http://www.premiertravelinn.com/pti/hotelInformation.do?hotelId=23881 They do family rooms.

Sorry to say that the Strand Palace is not a good hotel option. Location is excellent but it is very run down IMHO. I would prefer to stay elsewhere. If it is part of a package deal just console yourself on its great location.
We have booked The Queens Gate Concorde for our visit to The Albert Hall £75 for the room. They do a family room for £85 per night, Hal any opinions? Ian
I have not heard of that one Ian but it gets good feedback on Tripadvisor. I can recommend an excellent nearby restaurant for lunch (very good lunch deals - very expensive in the evening), Zaika, see http://www.toptable.co.uk/details.cfm?rid=24&CFID=10978253&CFTOKEN=4d79896f7096bbe6-D3A63795-F779-FCCB-CEE08ED159D8F3FD
Thanks Hal, I will show Lynn when she comes home from the office.
