View Full Version : Wonder works & Riplys believe it or not
Ime thinking of doing these two attractions when in florida again.
Was wondering were they worth visiting? How long would it take to do each of these attractions?
Any info would be good
Thankyou Marv:wave:

Wonder works perhaps an hour max in my view not worth it.Was a bit gutted to find an additional area at the top that required additional money to access as it wasnt exactly low budget in the first place. Wouldnt go back again.

disappointing, ds(7) enjoyed the laserquest on the top floor best but this activity had to be paid for in addition to the entrance fee. Disney quest is much better, imho.

Don't know about Ripley's, but Wonderworks is a waste of time and I definitely would not recommend it. I know that it looks wonderful from the outside, but inside it is not!
I suppose it depends on what you are interested in. We have never been to Wonderworks but did Ripleys once. We were in there a good couple of hours, but then I like all sorts of trivia and weird and wonderful facts.
I remember the shrunken head and the biggest collection of bedpans in the world:D

Wonderworks would be good for small children on a rainy day, but there is not a lot there really.

Can't comment on Wonderworks. Ripleys will pass a couple of hours and is one of those places that can be done if you have a bit of time to kill (not much of that in Orlando I know!!). We found it interesting but once done would probably not do again.

I agree with previous posters...Wonderworks was expensive for what it was, and even though we didn't go at a particularly busy time of year, we found ourselves waiting to get a turn on most things.:(
I would thoroughly recommend the Titanic Exhibition on I Drive if it is still going......well worth the money, and extremely well (and imaginitively) presented. :thumbs-up

I agree the titanic exhibition is great you can stay all day if you want ,the guides are very knowledgeable and you can throw questions at them and they just know its fab.

Are there any other places that do Laserquest?
Thanks
Well, not so many good reviews for these two attractions then, i dont want to waste our money on them if its not going to be worth it.
Titanic sounds good we may give this ago

I saw Wonder Works and Ripley's Believe it or Not. I thought they were good.
That was especially the latter. Wonder Works had a lot of exhibits that I'd
seen before, elsewhere. So, it wasn't so good. I went to them at night anyway, when most other attractions are closed. I would have also gone to the Titanic one, but not enough time to.

We had a good morning at Ripleys, we thought it was worth a visit if you have a spare part day, but once was probably enough!

We thought Ripleys was worth a look in. If you read and look at everything give it a couple of hours. The photo morph bit in the middle is great where a nice woman takes a pic and morphs it onto backdrops. We had our faces put onto Anakin Skywalker and Padme'. Good fun.
As for wonderworks, we won't be doing it again. We felt it was a bit run down and had seen better days. A lot of the 'attractions' can be seen on the net for free if you look in the right places, so I weren't amazed. If you have spare cash and time to kill then go for it, otherwise I wouldn't bother.

Went to Wonderworks in November on a VERY wet afternoon and it filled an hour or so. Not worth the price and I got flea bites off the Shuttle landing game.
Titanic was more than I expected it to be...thought it would be over the top holywood but surprisingly informative and very moving.

Never done WW, but Ripleys is okay for an hour or so after dinner or shopping just to go and have a look at.
Dont know why but its sort of tradition that we go everytime we visit, and it doesn't really change that much.
Its still worth an hour out of a holiday though.

I was also thinking of doing these two next year but might try titanic instead, just wondering how this would go down with 15 year old, 14 year old and nine year old and is this ok for wheelchair

Oh no!! what a shame about wonderworks:( We went there in 2001 and had a great laugh, we only remember paying a small price too! Thats two attractions we will be missing now then, with The Mercado centre going downhill as i have heard:nonono:

Hi Princess-pink, I would think the kids would enjoy this. It's a very interesting tour and the cast are great. Loads to see and learn, there's even an iceberg to let you feel how cold it was on the night titanic sank-or there was when we were there a few years ago! They can get their photos taken on the grand staircase. I can't wait to go back to it. For wheelchair access-I don't remember there being any stairs so I would think you should be fine-their website suggests it will be.
Have a great time!

I've just penciled in Titanic into my tentative itinerary. I had hoped to do it last year (we were staying in Homewood so it was just up the street) but never got around to it.
Am definitely going to do it this time. I've always had an interest in the Titanic story.

Never done Wonder Works, but we visited Ripleys on our first visit. We spent about 2 hours there (which wasn't long, when you look at the cost!) - we enjoyed it, but think it is very much a one time only thing to do - so if you have cash to spare and want to fill just 2 - 3 hours, its worth doing - myself, I'd rather spend a lot less cash, and have an hour on the Airboats on the 192:D

I did wonderworks last night and it was a waste of time. At the end I thought we had missed something but it was just quite a short experience. The best part was the lazer tag near the arcade but we paid extra to do that. Allow about an hour if your walking by and need to get out of the rain, other than that don't waste your money.

If you've never been before then ripley's and wonderworks is probably worth a look round on a wet day. but I thaught they were both overpriced and as said previously wonderwrks was a little run down. I wouldn't bother again realy, theres much better attractions in the area to see for the same price.

We went to Wonderworks a few years ago but imagine it hasn't changed much. Was disappointed. It looks great from the outside but is nothing like that inside. Some of the bits were quite interesting but I think there are better places to spend your money.:omg:
