Valencia Spain

Hi we're staying in a villa near valencia in May for two weeks. Has anyone any ideas on what to do with a 14yr old daughter who isan't into laying by the pool sunbathing? Any ideas what the weather will be like at the beginning of may, do we just pack shorts and t shirts?
I've never been to Spain before, can you tell!!:)
