I'm looking at doing a last minute thingy and it looks like it may very well be Paradise Island in the Bahamas.

1)Has anyone been there recently?
2)Whats the weather like in Jan/Feb?
3)Is Atlantis any good?
4)All inclusive or not?

I know that someone out there can answer these questions (you usually do) so let me know your opinions before I book tomorrow night.

Many thanks

Su

I stayed at the Atlantis last october and thought the place was amazing, though I have to say after a week we did start to get a bit bored but mainly because we never left the resort at night. The casino was great fun and theres some really nice restuarants which do vary in price, we went with Virgin holidays and it was room only I dont think there is an all inclusive option. I'd certainly go back tomorrow if I could :)
I've only ever been that once in october so I dont know for certain what the weather is like jan/feb time but i was watching the world weather on tv the other day and it was about 28 in Nassua.

You could try posting this (or another version) in the section relevant to Disney Cruises as you may get some of your answers on the weather etc from them - the Disney cruise boats make a stop in Nassau and there is a organised tour to the Atlantis..

...just a thought ?

We were in the Bahamas last Feb and Feb 2000 - both times on cruises. We sunbathed and paddled and snorkelled last year and in 2000 the sea was warm enough to swim comfortably. We didnt go into the Atlantis hotel but its a fantastic looking building.

I went there the day of my 40th birthday and spent 4 glorious days there.
It was just myself and my then 10 year old. We were upgraded due to it being my birthday.
We went in early December and it was so quiet there.
The temps were in the 80's.
My daughter had the Lazy River to herself most of the time! She would go round and round and was trying to break a record of 60 times!!! A staff member told her that was the record.
Now, i will say that i did not find the Check In Staff to be really nice but the restaurant staff were great.
Rooms are lovely.
The best pina coladas are those bought from the beach - found a man with a little cart. They cost just $5 and were in a coconut shell. The hotel one's were about $7 or $8
Do consider doing the Dining Plan as i talked to a family who did not do it and they ended up paying a lot more money for their meals.
Loved the choice of restaurants and we were there during Nassau's first ever Film Festival so we got to see some celebs. It was lovely to watch movies on a huge screen by the swimming pool on a warm December evening. Cannot beat that.
I would recommend it and we are planning to return again. Will definitely go for my 45th birthday but I am considering a trip back in December of this year.
