We're wondering whether the two girls (aged 10 & 7) will enjoy this trip. Also, what are the best type of tickets, and why? Lastly, is it easy to get to from LBV, please?

It is easy to get to from anywhere in Orlando. It depends what the girls are in to if they would enjoy it - if they are interetsed in science/space they definitely will. Just about an hours drive from LBV I would say.
Have got to say that this is a dilemma I have had to face in the past. I've always wanted to go there but was worried that my 3 kids now aged 13, 10 and 7 would get bored after a short while. Don't think a 7 year old would be very interested to hear about how a space rocket lifts off etc. I think mine would rather spend the day in the hotel pool than look at rockets. Never mind.

Hi I'd get them to watch Armargedon, Appollo 13, they might find the science bits a bit boring but kids have a great imagination and the space centre captures that also if u want to see gators in the wild its a great spot:)

when we went in 2002 my BIL organised for us to visit Kennedy and i must be honest both myself and my DH werent looking forward to it-we both thought it was going to be a bit of an 'anoraks' trip,so went totally expecting to be bored stiff..........we were pleasantly surprised-as we both really enjoyed our day,it was very interesting and we both learned stuff we never knew, towards the back of kennedy is the memorial wall dedicated to people who have lost their lives through thier jobs with NASA,it is a very beautiful memorial, and close to that is an education building im afraid i cant rememeber the name of it,but there are lots of ineresting activities for the kids to do-and they can even try on an old space suit!!
we missed out on the IMAX thing as we went to the meet an astronaut talk instead and it was really interesting and we got to meet him afterwards and got his autograph on some bookmarks we brought for our kids which they thought was fabulous!!
there are quite a few gators there too which the kids seemed to love looking out for,and there were rather a few mosquito type things to which took great delight in munching on me!!so take some mosquito repellant with you!!
It is a really good day out and i can honestly say that not once did we think 'oh is it time to go yet'!!

Hate to say but my three girls hated it they were 12 9 and 6 at the time. None of them are into sci fi and we went on a very busy day.
