View Full Version : San Francisco - Restaurants
Can anyone tell me which are the best steak restaurants?
We prefer value for money ( a good steak, don't care about the surroundings)
but will pay if necessary.

I Don't know if you like garlic or not, but DH and i love the Stinking Rose Restaurant. www.thestinkingrose.com The Garlic ice cream is to die for, they also do dishes without garlic.

We went on the fire engine tour & they recommended a lovely restaurant near to the harbour & the tram terminus, I can't remember its name but we had a lovely steak & some fish. We just love San Francisco & would like to live there if our numbers come up.
Have fun. Loz

Get in your car... pop over the mountains to Capitola/Santa Cruz and find the "shadow Brook Restaurant"... Beautiful setting, restaurant on 4 levels, cut into a hillside small stream running through it..
Or .. heads down the coast to Carmel.. and eat in Clint Eastwoods place.

It has to be Mortons - simply the best steak restaurant I have ever been to. You can check out the menu at www.mortons.com and even make a dinner rerservation for the San Francisco restaurant on-line.

I have to agree. The Stinking Rose is fantastic and the garlic ice cream is amazing. :spin: :d:
For an over-priced but fun meal, try Bubba Gumps on Pier 39! All based on Forrest Gump movie. Overpriced but a laugh!

Thanks for the replies, we will try the suggestions.
We have booked for the Beach Blanket Babylon show and a segway tour.
Looking forward to the trip!

Yosemite is my DH's favourite palce and as this trip is an early 40th B'day pressie for him he got to chose where we go! Personally San Fran is my favourite palce on earth. My DD is only 6 so we thought we should do DL for her but I'm sure she'll enjoy the other bits too! I can't WAIT!!!! :pgig:
