Hi folks
Has anyone been to Prague for a short break/weekend, would you recommend it and any suggestions for a good, central place to stay?
Thanks :)

Hi
My friend goes there at least 3 times a year, very cheap and good value for money.
She aways books with Expedia or some other sites but will never book through a travel agent as she gets it much cheaper on the web.
She always stays in the center of town.
She and her Dh love it there.

We stayed here:

It is out of the main area but just near a metro stop so quick hop into main city. As a result rates are better. Would recommend it.

I stayed in the Waldstein hotel. Lovely and very near the sights. It seems to be cheap in the winter but quite expensive in the summer.

Great place,we visited when the Nato summit was in town, Bush, Blair etc.. what a time to pick!! It was fab as all the locals had left and we had free reign! November time and it was bloody freezing. Fabulous place and well worth the trip.
I hear though that because of the bucket airline brigade it is turning into a bit of a stag and hen party destination. It is really Cultural and I hope it stays that way

Best not to stay round Wenceslas Square - a bit on the sleazy side - unless thats what you are after of course! ;) The old town is lovely, I would try to stay there.

We where in Prague this time last year, when the Nato summit was on also the anniversary of Auschwitz. We stayed at the Hotel Pariz in the centre of the old town. It is very cold this time of year it fell to -15 when we where there, so wrap up warm;) ;)
