Is there a bar to hold on to in the logs in the Dudley do right ride? As I,ve seen photos of the ride and it looks scarey and bad.

Scary and good!:d:
If i remember rightly, the bars to hold on to are at the sides:omg: and i remember being horrified but i didnt fall out,:pgig: and neither did my kids;) so it must be ok!!
Not as reassuring though, as having something in front of you to hold, as on splash mountain.

I have been on it once and to tell you the truth I nearly got wet ( and not from the ride ) scared the pants off me when I realised there was nothing to hold me in. Turned out ok though, lol.
I read that they had to slow it down because it was too hairy a ride.
Be a shame if it closes though.
Jurrasic parks my fav though, ohh and splash mountain and erm oh yea Atlantis at seaworld. I love splash rides can you tell.:spin: .

the bars to hold on to are at the side - this is a great ride and if it is working correctly you get soaked - when we were there in Oct it seemed to be breaking down every day, and was very unreliable.

I love this ride - so much fun! You get absolutely drenched & the queues can be manic, so either get a fastpass or go really early (but take a spare set of clothes if you don't wanna walk round soaked for a couple of hours!!)
You get wetter on the bilge rat barges though, so it's best to do those together!!

I remember getting changed in some toilets too! I think we used the ones near Duelling Dragons though. We rode Dudley Dorights, then the barges, twice over......so we'd been on 4 soaking wet rides by 10am! It was great, lol :D

Dudley do rights is a fantastic ride, it and Blutos Bilge Barge rafts are 2 of my favourite rides at IOA.

At the moment this one is closed , however as it has been taken off the maps I would think it is not planned to reopen for quite some time.
Shame, as it is a good ride

Just read on the universal site that this ride is "closed temporarily", so hopefully it is not being replaced , just repaired/refurbished. I think reliability was an issue with this ride.

Oh no! I hope it's just being repaired or refurbished. Wouldn't be the same without it!

I remember seeing this ride for the first time and thinking OH-MY-GOD! :omg: Whilst we were there it was stated on the information sheets that this one and the Bilges were closed for refurb - but they weren't!! So the three of us took great delight in being the only people on them! We did the bilges two or three times in a row before we went to Dudley's! I was more than a little apprehensive about this one as it looks so big and i almost had a heart attack when i saw the silly little side bars to hold on to! :omg: But it was fantastic! The drop doesn't seem half as bad as it looks and it was a real giggle! Boy, did we get wet that day!!!

Never been there yet when this ride has been fully operational. I got stuck on it for about 30 mins a few years back and every time since it has broken down while we have been on it or waiting in the queue for it. Never just gone on and done it.
It scared the living daylight out of my almost 5 year old last time but as she was just tall enough she wanted to do it. Think she would have enjoyed it more if some pillock hadn't used the water cannon and got her full in the face.!!:

I think we were the first ones in the park one morning, and rushed to do Dudleys - did not even pass any attendents, in fact we did not see another living person, and if you've done the ride you will know how long they make you walk before you get in the boat! once we had got in (still no one around!) and casually floating in the dark, my 7 yr old said " I don't like this very much", he wasn't the only one!, no harness, straps, god I held on to him around his waist for dear life on our descent, and it seemed even bigger than it looked! My son loved it and wanted to go again, and he still talks about this being one of this favourite rides - his mum, meanwhile, has just recovered. Am I alllowed to say, I'm glad I won't have to go through the experience again in May:spin: According to a certain site that lists reports of injuries/incidents on rides, this ride seems to get its fair share, so perhaps it is to be fitted with restraints.
It is being refurnished and will be open again by the first of April.

It was the only ride that i truly feared for my life. I made DH sit in front and I spent the whole ride hiding behind him  .

My wife will never go on it again, she really hurt her neck on the big drop (I am not sure how!). When we got to the bottom there was a person on each of the water cannons and each one hit us, we were wet until we got back to our hotel that evening!! I was a nightmare! Good ride though
I loved this ride and put it in my top 3.
It's insane and you get truly drenched (especially in the front).
However my wife also really hurt her neck on the big drop so it's interesting to read other people with the same experience.
Major thumbs up from me though and I hope it's ready for the middle of May

That's a shame a couple of people seem to have gotten hurt on it :( I've been on it loads, both with my sister & when Dave & I went, with no problems whatsoever......maybe it's because I was so preoccupied about my drenched state ("MY HAIR!!!! MY HAIR!!!!" lol) I blocked out any potential pain, lol!!!
Both my son and i love this ride. Good for a cooling soak on a hot day. Not so good when the wet shorts rub on the legs :confused2 . Cant wait to try it again in June. :thumbs-up

We absolutely love this ride,i agree it can be very scary when it comes to the drop :omg: ,but thats why we all go on it.We went on it acouple of years back during the HALOWEEN PARTY,and believe me it is even more nerve wracking at night time. However when we went there last november it had shut down.Lets hope its up and running very soon?.

Sounds like it will be open again just in time for when we go back: it scares me silly, though! I don't understand how we stay in on that step drop and I like a bar in front. That said, its probably the best splash ride I've ever been on...... better the first time you do it as you don't know how terrified you're going to be!

we did this ride a couple of years ago it was very scary and was made much worse by the fact that it kept breaking down when we were in the queue and they held us at the top for a while before the big drop.
