Welcome to the Dibb http://pages.prodigy.net/bestsmileys1/emoticons3/ACC35.GIF
The tickets that would give you the most flexibility would be
14 day Disney Ultimate ticket (approx £169) plus
4 park Flexticket (approx £109)- or 5 park if you wanted to visit Busch Gardens (approx £134)
These would give you unlimited access for two weeks to the Disney Theme parks and waterparks, Universal, Islands of Adventure, Seaworld and Wet n Wild
There are cheaper alternatives if you didn't want to visit all the parks - maybe if we had an idea of what you wanted to do, where you were staying etc .. ? :)

We did the same, we had the disney ultimate 14 day pass and 4 park orlando flexi ticket. we purchased the flexi ticket on the web and it is cheaper than going to universal and seaworld and paying separetly. It's the cheapest way to do it.

A big welcome to the Dibb saladams!
Tickets can be so confusing! You will learn a lot just by reading the forums.
Decide which parks you want to visit and whether you will spend a day or more at each and work from there. Just Disney and Seaworld or others too?
Will you want the flexibility of being able to visit a park every day you are there or will you have a set number of park days and stick to that?
Do you want to visit Disney water parks or Disneyquest?
Will you want to visit Busch Gardens?
Will you want to visit Universal parks too?
Will you be likely to visit again within 12 months? If so then annual passes will be the cheapest and most flexible option as they have extra benefits.
we purchased the flexi ticket on the web and it is cheaper than going to universal and seaworld and paying separetly. It's the cheapest way to do it.
not necessarilly the cheapest - particularly if you have children.
You can buy a 5-day 2-park pass for Universal Studios & IOA (2 days +3 consecutive days free) for $99.95 +tax which includes a free child pass with each adult pass bought. i.e. child +adult 5 day pass for $99.95 +tax.
See http://themeparks.universalstudios.com/orlando/website/kids_free_landing.html?__dest=kids_free_landing.OF FER_left_2
For Seaworld you can buy a Funcard with unlimited access from 1/1/06 to 31/12/06 for $61.95 /$49.95.
See http://commerce.4adventure.com/store/dept_tickets.asp?dept_id=203#TC_BP
So for $161.90 +tax you can get tickets for both AND for children you only need the $49.95 +tax SeaWorld ticket.

Will you go back in future? If so a good way to save money is by buying a Disney Magic Your Way pass with plus visits (to waterparks) and buy it with non-expiry - this way you can make your Disney pass last for more than 1 holiday - the initial outlay is more, but you make the saving on your return trip.
I signed up to the newsletter at www.mousesavers.com which gives good ticket offers from the US firm ticketmania, for magic your way passes.
if you're not sure if you will be back, it is great to have the flexibilty that the Disney Ultimate & Orland Flextickets allow, that you can visit any park, any day for your 14 day holiday.
And yes, you are absolutley right - it can be very confusing!
