I'm thinking of having another tattoo and I wouldn't mind having it done in Orlando. Can anyone recommend a decent tattooist.

What are you thinking of having? Can't help with where to go in Orlando to have it done sorry. Scotty in Hereford did my second one and it's fab! He even took a picture of it to put in his display book so half of Hereford have seen the lower part of my back (if you know what I mean).

be careful, as if anything goes wrong it is unlikey to be covered by your medical insurance. Also the regs covering tattooists in Florida are not at tight as over here.

I find it to be more expensive over there too. They wanted to charge me $85 for a really small tattoo that i can get done over here much cheaper, even with the exchange rate! I'd stick with your usual tattoo artist if i were you!

I have one Dixie d, It's a Pink Panther [adore him] and it's on my left thigh. Not good planning really cos when i put my cossie on , unless i pull the leg really high up, he looks as though he's headless, still love it though.

I have tattoos and was thinking of getting one out there. There is quite a few around and I went into one at Old Town, didn't really have a great selection and I didn't have a great deal of time. I would like to get one done next time but am just a little bit wary of the shops out there!!!

Both DH & I got ours done while on holiday in Orlando. Yes it was expensive, but we have had lots of lovely comments about our tattoo's, they are lovely. I designed my tattoo of Mickey Mouse and DH has a brilliant custom tattoo.
There are lots of threads on tattoo's if you scroll to the bottom of this thread.
The guy that did our tattoo's works in the studio at Old Town and is brilliant. If you don't see anything you like ask them they will help you.

Don't you think it would be a load of hassle, when I had mine done, they tell you to keep them clean and out of the sun an dry! in Orlando!!! unless it's your last day, I'd wait till your back home. Sorry no help what so ever, but just my 2 peneth worth. ( what you thinking of having done?)

My thoughts exactly. I have two tattoos, done here by an excellent guy. I want to show them off on holiday not have them protected from the sun, the chlorine in the water and potential scarring if exposed too soon.
I am sure there are very good reputable tattoists there but I want to enjoy my holiday not be spending my time protecting what amounts to an open wound:confused2

You are entitled to your opinion of course:grin:
For the record, I have a small seahorse on my upper right arm and a daisy chain around my left ankle. Both are covered most of the year and many people I know would be shocked if they knew I had them.
They are my little secret;)

As Sue said, you're entitled to your opinion, but some of us have tattoos for sentimental or tribute reasons (as I do) and could take that offensively. Some tattoos have a story behind them, please dont put them all down. :(

Lesley I am with you on this one, I think they are awful, but each to there own, but I really don't like them at all!#
Think that is because I am scared of needles.!!!
But it would be interesting to know who has go them.
would do a poll but don't know how to?

I've got three, and planning another one! Personally i love them, and don't regret any of mine. Some tattoo artists are just that, artists, and do fantastic designs, works of art! But it all comes down to personal preference. Some of you don't like them, some of us do, it would be a boring world if we were all the same!

I agree. Why do people think that other people want to see their 'body art'?

They're not done for other people to like or see, (well mine's not) as someone said they are done for personal reasons, a lot of people have them in place's where they definitely don't want other people to see (except 'close friends').
I understand some people don't like them it's all down to personal choice.
Some people don't like Florida ! now they are silly!!!

The way i look at is, i paid for them, they are on my body, so if i want to show them off then i will, (if you don't like it, don't look at me! *lol*) and if i want to cover them up, then they are all in places that i can. Only my close family and friends know i have three, because all of mine are in places that can be covered up whilst at work, or other places where showing my tattoos might not be appropriate.

My dh had one done in International drive (opposite and up a wee bit from Quality inn International). Never had any problems with his. As already said expensive though.

I have 3 tattoo's already a large one at the bottom of my back and my kids starsigns above each of my ankles so I know all the risks. But i thought it might of been a reminder of another great holiday.

I have 2 little butterflies on my right shoulder blade. DH thought about getting one while we were in Orlando last year but when we costed it up they were alot more expensive than in the UK so he didn't bother.
We stayed on I-Drive and there were certainly alot of tatooists to choose from!!!

Threads about where to get one not whether you like them.
Tattooist on I-Drive is one of the best.
