Apologies to those of you of you who saw my last request on this subject of a couple of weeks or so ago, but had no luck that time, so thought I'd ask one more time just in case the very person out there who might have some recommendations didn't see my previous thread!!

Would like recommendations of self-catering accommodation, preferably ski-in/ski-out, (or at any rate, ski-in) rather than having to trek to lifts or take shuttles. Also, preferably not too pricey, too!!

Any recommendations, even if hotels, would be appreciated.

Also, have read recently that some people suffer from altitude sickness for first few days when there. Any experiences of this, and how severe/long did it last??

Many thanks,

Crystal

Hi there

I have never been to Breck but just wanted to say as long as you are fit and healthy and keep your fluid levels up then you should be ok with the altitude.

I was in Canada last year and suffered no ill effects.

Have a great time!

Hi flikflak, thanks for your response to my query about altitude sickness! I have been really keen to go skiing in the US or Canada for ages now. I had been aware for some time about the height of their resorts, but only recently read this report about how badly it can affect some people, and it started to make me a bit anxious and wondering if we should give the Stateside ski resorts a miss!! Your reassurances are therefore very welcome, and still very keen to go.

Now all we have to do is save like mad (oh, and get fit...!!).

Cheers, Crystal
