Hi there all,

Last time we were in the parks we took a cool bag in with some sandwiches and packed some snacks - like Pringles and Raisins and Cereal Bars, Fruit etc and took along some cold drinks etc... We had a stroller last time. This time we won't.

......So I am needing to find places in all the parks where we can get some healthy snacks/light meals. We will be having our main meal in the evening outside the parks and we will porbably do a couple of Character meals and table service meals. It's not that I am really strict on my kids eating the odd burger and fries etc.. when we are on holiday after all, but they really don't like them. They will eat some fires and maybe a hot dog/burger or two when we first get there and then they will have had enough! They all enjoy fruit very much and healthier snacks. Me and DH are the same - we don't eat fast food at all. Fast cakes, fast donuts, fast ice cream ....maybe - but not food!!:d:

I really don't want to be lugging loads of food items around - some cereal bars in my bag and some bottles of water - fair enough - but thats it

Any suggestions for options at all the main parks or where I can find out about this.

Cheers:wavey:

Fiona, there is actually a surprising amount of good food around it you look for it. I know exactly what you mean, my kids get very sick of american kids meals, they just don't eat PB&J or Macaroni Cheese, and we don't eat that many burgers.

I have seen fruit in all the parks (for a price) and most places offer carrots or other veg instead of fries. We also go to the Columbia Harbour House in MK a lot as they do a nice Tuna Sandwich which is a great break from all the burgers. I think it's really a case of keeping your eyes open, cause the decent food is out there, it's just there is an awful lot more of the burgers etc.

I always found it great to eat the melon pots that seemed to be available all over the parks (perhaps more so at US and IOA) - they were filling and also great for the high water content :)
