Hello,

Am actually very excited that me and my brother may go for a week in May. :D Have been doing some bargain hunting and looks like All Star resort is a possibility. It is quite enticing as I don't want to drive so I want reliable shuttles. Just a few questions to be answered though...

1- Is it worth the extra money to stay onsite?
2- Whats the deal with the EMH? In May would we get these? How?
3- Buses- When do they run and how often. Do they stop when parks close or a bit later? What happens with EMH?
4- I understand buses pick up All Star Sports 1st, would it be good to stay here then?
5- What will it cost to get to IOA and to Seaworld?

Thanks so much for any help!

Answers to your questions. We stayed there last year in the ASMovies. What can I say, SUPER!!!!!!! Definitely worth the bit extra to stay there if you don't want to driveas the shuttles take you everywhere within Disney. EMH, you will get in May, thats when we travelled last year. The parks open up earlier for guests staying in the resorts, you just get up early and board the buses. They arequite frequent, usually every 15/20 mins and they run till about 90 mins after the parks close. Because ASSports is the first hotel you get to , then Music then Movies, you would get picked upfirst but if the bus still has seats on it will pick up from the other 2, well thats what happened when we went. Butbecause they are so frequent you arenot waiting for long anyhow.
As for the cost to IOA/Seaworld, I cant halp as my OH drove. Wouldn't be that much I should n't think, you can get GS to book it for you at your hotel. Hope this helps a bit.. I'm sure you'll get more info posted .

Enjoy whatever you decide , but I'd stay at the AS Resort again anytime.

1. Yes, yes, yes yes yes.
2. A park a day opens at 8am. A park most nights shuts 3 hours late. Only for guests staying on site. Take your room keys.
3. From an hour or so before park opening to around 2 hours after park closing to all the parks. They stay open until around 2 hours after the end of EMH.
4. Yes. That is why we stay there instead of the others. Some buses run from just one resort (eg just Music) but the vast majority do Sports first then the other two.
5. Seaworld by Mears return was $75 plus tip last Oct.

1. If you are not planning on driving then I say definately worth it.

2. EMH is operated throughout the year, as an onsite guest you are automatically entitled to take advantage of AM extra magic hour or PM extra magic hours.

3. Buses start running at least 1 hour prior to the park opening, if it is EMH at your chosen park then the buses start running an hour prior to this time. The buses for the resorts continue to run until the final guest has left the park area.

4. Some of the buses are shared between the 3 resorts and some are run 1 each, at peak times of the day each has their own. we have stayed at both Music and Movies and had no problems getting on the buses. They do have an on demand service there, so if there is a greater demand for say Epcot they will pull in extra buses for there.

5. Depends on how you plan on getting there, Mears coaches I think are $15-$20 per person return. Taxi to Universal cost us $30 each way including tip.

Hope this helps

It helps a lot! Do the Mears coaches actually run from the resort? How do you book this?

yes you can ask guest services to arrange this for you and the coaches come into the resorts and pick up point is just outside the main building .... there are the park stops and before this is a mears and magical express stop,

All the q's have been answered, but I'd like to also add yes its a great place to stay!!

This will be 3rd time there in August.

The 3 All star resorts are all next to each other, in non busy times the Disney buses will stop at all 3 resorts, Movies last. But at peak times there will be a bus for each resort.

The buses are great and really easy to use.

Hi cant see u going wrong with your choice u will be able to take advantage of EMH which are great, if u are booking via BA I would suggest joining greasypalm where u get cashback for your booking, as I said yesterday Travel Republic are going cheap flights from Birmingham but to Sanford but u could use mears for transfers and book $15 return tranfers to SW and Universal with them as well:)

booking a mears bus is so simple - there's a phone in the lobby with a direct line, you don't have to pay for the call, and you can book the evening before you require the transfer so you don't have to worry too much about planning in advance. if the park opens at 9 book the 8am bus, as it sometimes picks up at other hotels and can take a while to get to universal or seaworld.

they're all great, but asmo is my favourite. the theming is absolutely wonderful, and, being the newest, is the smartest. the food court suits me and my kids as we all wander off and pick up what we fancy, the shop is great, the pools are really well run, with lifeguards till late at night, and the bus service is reliable. i really wouldn't stay anywhere else (unless i won the lotto of course, in which case i'd work my way round every single disney hotel).
