I honestly can’t count the times we’ve walked past this loud and lively sports bar and longed to go in - especially Paul.
I have a bit of a thing about noise though, particularly when I’m tired – which I usually am by the time the fireworks have ended at EPCOT.
We were endeavouring to do some things that we hadn’t done on previous visits though, so I thought I’d pop in, have a look at the menu and see just how noisy it really was in there.
The place was humming, as there was an important game on tonight. Seattle v Carolina - apparently. ;)
It was lively alright, but what a great atmosphere!
As the game was nearing the end, most people were gathered in the busy bar area so I asked if we could have a table by the window. We waited less than 10 minutes.
I was happy because I could people-watch on the Boardwalk and Paul was happy because he was completely surrounded by the sport, which was relayed in every direction, on TV and plasma screens large and small. The screens were even in the loo!
I was settling in nicely, surprisingly not finding the noise a problem at all. It was a vibrant, sporty, happy buzz and just right for the type of food we were going to be eating.
There was actually quite a variety of dishes on the menu for a sports bar. An assortment of burgers, hot sandwiches, chicken wings, steak, fish, hot dogs, wraps, salads and more were on offer.
Mmm what to choose?
First things first though; A glass of Kendall Jackson Chardonnay for me and a cold Bud for Paul.
I decided on a huge basket of hot and spicy Red Wings, accompanied by some celery sticks and a cooling blue cheese dip. Those wings sure were bigguns! And, I may add, very tasty indeed.
Paul had an exceptionally good Portobello Mushroom Burger. There were two large, juicy grilled mushrooms, layered with roasted sweet red pepper and melted cheese. The fries were really well seasoned and piping hot too (a pet hate of ours is luke-warm fries)
I was really very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here, especially Paul’s burger.
Service was very friendly and swift, and the atmosphere was without doubt energetic - but not overly strident.
My only regret is that we’d walked on by so many times in the past.
I’m going to try the Macho Nachos next time!
