any helpful hints on the best rooms to ask for at the wdw dolphin hotel we are staying there in july ao any help would be most welcome thanks in advance
Hiya!:wavey: Mazzy's the Dolphin expert on here - I'm sure she'll answer all your questions!
All I know about the Dolphin is that they put the statues on the wrong hotels, it's meant to be the Swan!!
The captain on our Illuminations Cruise told us - someone lost their job!!!!!

Make sure you ask for a high floor to get the best views! We stayed there in 2001 (sorry, can't remember what block or room) but we had the most amazing views of MGM from our balcony! You could see the Epcot fireworks in the rooms on the otherside of the hotel! It's a wonderful hotel, i'm sure you'll love it!
LOL Sue, don't know about expert but I'll do my best! ;)
Aladinzane - first of all have you booked as part of a package or have you booked the hotel independently? If you booked as a package ie with virgin holidays you need to put your request to them, but if you have booked independently you need to ring the hotel direct, also join their preferred guest program at www.spg.com It is free to join and can get you a free upgrade if available, so be sure to get your membership number entered on your booking details.
Best rooms are in the East Wing, which has views of the EPCOT fireworks, you need a high floor though for the best views. If you ask for high floor with EPCOT view you may get lucky like we did - we had a fab view every night of the fireworks, there's nothing like lying in bed watching your own personal firework display! ;) We also got a balcony one year as well - that was absolutely brilliant!
If you haven't already seen the hotel website it's at www.swandolphin.com
Any other questions don't hesitate to ask - I love talking about the Dolphin, it's our fave place to stay in WDW! :D

We stayed there in October 2004.
My trip report gives our experiences on our room and how we got it.
Its a fantastic hotel by the way.
I've attached a link.

I would contact virgin now to tell them your preferences for the room, then maybe the day before you leave you could email the dolphin direct to give your preference and also your spg number, that way you have both options covered.
If you have children I can highly recommend the kids club at the Dolphin, we have used it loads of times but unfortunately my two have outgrown it now. :(
Hope this helps, any more specific questions just let me know. :D
