I know this area comes highly recommended by most and i have found a lovely villa here, golf course views etc, and the owner is lovewly and i feel very comfortable booking with her as she has been very helpful, replyed promptly to all emails, given me contacts of previous guests etc. The only thing that is putting me off is the drive time to Disney. With 2 young children we will be popping back to the villa fairly frequently for midday breaks. We are going september and whe we went this time last year we did have a drive around the 192 and 27 and didn't come across much traffic, and it seemed a very easy drive. what are other dibbers expereinces please??

Thanks

This is another area where some owners use warp speed to determine the distance from Disney. Realistically it is a 15 - 20 minutes drive to Disney and of course a similar drive to most other places.
Nice place but a bit too far out for me.

Suzanne

We played golf at HR in Jan.

I would also say that to get to the gates of MK, you are talking nearer to 30 minutes. A bit too far for midday breaks IMO.

Hi

We stayed nr Highlands Reserve in October in a community called West Stonebrige. We found it really easy to hop on the I4 and get to all the parks, this was better than going down the 192 my opinion. A bit too far though for midday breaks. We spent the day in parks and had something to eat on way back. Even to come home get changed and go for dinner seemed a chore as most restaurants were a distance. This however would not put me off staying on the highway 27 again. :)

We stayed at highland reserve in 2004, and we are going back in May. It really depends on the time of day you will be wanting to travel. We always got to disney within 15 mins, but then again we always left before 9am.It took my sister an 1 1/2hr to get to wet n wild whilst it took us 25 mins...on the same day..the difference was they left at 9:45 we left a 9. I think september however will be fine and i doubt you will hit lots of traffic..we found it a lovely peaceful area. Hope this helps

Last Sept/Oct we stayed again at Calabay Parc - just up the road from HR.
It was a breeze to get to WDW via the US27/192 route and the Black Lake Road. We returned to the villa during the day several times and didn't find it a chore; we equated it to a journey from our home into town - but less stressful!:erm:
When we wanted to go anywhere via the I4 we used the Champions Gate route - quickest to Universal was 20mins (before 9am)
