Eating an early lunch at Columbia Harbour House on our first visit of the holiday to the Magic Kingdom is a long standing tradition of ours.
We always sit upstairs, where it’s generally a peaceful haven away from the gathering hungry crowds below.
We have our plan of action down pat these days!
I’m not too keen on fries, and as the Baked Potato Cart is only a few metres away in Liberty Square, that’s where I head.
Paul, meanwhile, proceeds to Columbia Harbour House and places an order for a Garden Galley Salad.
They don’t mix it till the last minute so he asks for the chicken to be served separately on the side. Then we can both dig into the plentiful veggie salad of mixed greens, pineapple, pecans and feta cheese.
The vegetarian is happy with his uncontaminated salad - and I get to eat all the chicken!
He also orders a side of coleslaw and a large diet coke (no ice) to share.
Meanwhile, back in Liberty Square, I order a tasty hot baked potato, served with butter, soured cream and grated cheese.
This time, I got our latest tasty addition - some sweet, fresh-tasting corn on the cob. (I’ll be coming back for more of these babies in future!)
We then meet at ‘our’ table upstairs and share out our scrummy spread!
We always leave full and rested, feeling that we’ve had an economical and reosonably healthy lunch

That sounds like an excellent lunch! You do get a bit fed up of fries with everything and that salad sounds nice.

You know where the Liberty Bell is Val - well it's just by there. There are some tables and chairs right next to the potato cart if you want to munch in the sunshine. They sell a good selection of chilled fruit there too.

The baked potatoes are $3.49 and the corn cob was $2.00

It was just butter, sour cream and cheese. Columbia Harbour House serve Veggie Chilli, so I'm going to try that with the potatoes next time.

Anyone tried the veggie chilli?

Hmmmmm I wonder if , as it's below $4, the baked potato would count as a snack on the disney dining plan ? Can you tell I'm considering some snack / counter service only days , which combined with a day or two at universal will free up extra credits for signature restaurants , now where was that list ...............
