could anyone give me a bit of info on DQ. What is actually in there
and how much is it to go in. Is it worth a visit and how long spent there -
half a day or full day and can you go in the evening.:wavey:

Some info here (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/entertainment/entertainmentDetail?id=DisneyQuestIndoorInteractiv eThemeParkEntertainmentPage) It is a great attraction you can easily spend half a day or an evening there. Admission is included with the Premium and Ultimate tickets sold in the UK. We would not miss it least of all for the free internet access and the cheesecake you can enjoy while you Dibb. ;)

Only been once in 2000, loved it. Great for the whole family as long as you are okay with making a bit of a fool of yourself.

It is suitable for a 5 year old or would we be better waiting till dd is a bit older?

We've nevr been before, but being as Its included in our tickets this time, were going to give it a try as it sounds really good, we will be taking a 6 year old and a 7 year old, and if they dont like it... well its going to have to be tough... and with a trip to the disney store afterwards, i thnk we'll be alright!!

Sorry I'm going to buck the trend and say we didn't like Disney Quest. We went in October which is not peak season but you could not get near any of the arcade games and my DS was dying to have a go but the older kids were hogging them. I also felt the Cheesecake Factory didn't have much of a selection compared to the one in Mallof Millenia and there were very few computer terminals and getting a free one was nigh on impossible - but we eventually managed. So all in all we were not impressed and would not go back but I know I'm in the minority here.

i agree 100%, i had to beat some of the teenagers off with a stick so my kids could even get a chance on some of the rides and games:angry: they basically were picking them up and throwing them out of the way and we didn't see any staff!! i felt at times pretty scared at some of the men in there who didn't have anyone with them but just stood and stared at the girls:omg: - very scary!!!!!!! i didn't get a chance of getting near a computer and my cheescake wasn't very nice:(
my kids did enjoy it but DH and i were so glad to get outside into the sunshine and the peace and quiet cos it is very noisy in there.
would i go back..............:nonono: :nonono:

I agree-many of the rides are hogged by older teenagers who obviously know how to play the games etc. When we went it was hot and noisy and we couldn't wait to leave.HOWEVER our teenagers did enjoy it and they were old enough for us to leave in DQ whilst we wandered around DD for a couple of hours.I guess this is the compromise.I would say go in,have a look and if you and your family are not enjoying it ,leave. As the admission is included on many tickets ,you are not losing anything and you may enjoy it.

We went in 2001 and didn't enjoy it either! DD was 5 at the time and we didn't think there was much there at the time for that age range! DH is computer game mad and was really looking forward to it - but he was very disappointed!:( I will be going again this year though to partake in a bit of Dibbing!!;)

I agree with the above comments - I think its more geared towards teenagers. We did go in and have a wander round just to see what it was like and did quite enjoy the atmosphere but after a while it does get a bit loud!!

We are fortunate that our children are teenagers so we can erm... throw them in there while we wander round DT :d:

This is exactly what we were thinking curlywurly - our boys are teenagers so we thought it would be good for them to have a bit of time and good for us to have a wander round.

Thanks for the replies everyone

We visited on a Friday morning & it was empty :D if you are going during the school hols I would avoid evenings as that is when the local kids are likely to visit, ditto weekends. Our boys 6&8 loved it, we spent 5 hours there & had to drag them out

We didn't go in last time and I don't plan to this coming trip. I know you shouldn't knock it till you've tried it but...for me, a Disney holiday is not about computer games etc. (Even Buzz is a bit too "gamey" for me.) I can play on computers all year round, it's not what I'd chose to do in Florida.

The comment about men staring at the girls is worrying - one of the great things about the Disney parks is how safe it all feels. But DTD Westside and PI did have a very different feel to them.

It's not really just computer games there are other things as well which are great. I'm sure someone with a better memory than me would be able to give you the exact names of these things but I remember the canoe and the pirate ship where four of you at once go in and shoot at other ships. Then there is the design and ride your own roller coaster.

Didn't notice anything like men staring at the girls at all. The only problem I have with this place is that after a while it gives me a headache. I usually have to go and look round the shop and leave the others to it.
