Please can someone tell me when the new Everest Ride opens, as someone has said they have already been on it, and I thought it didn't open until April. Thanks:confused2

I think it's due to open officially at the beginning of April - but it's already in 'soft opening' - there have been previews for CMs, AP holders and DVC members :)

As far as I know from CMs last week the official opening is April but as Orlandobelle said the ride is currently in soft opening.
We went to AK on 4 days on our holiday & Everest was only closed on one of those days. We found that CMs were telling us as soon as we entered the park if it was open.

we went to the animal kingdom twice on our holiday ( came back on friday ) and my DH and DS went on it twice. We went on a Monday which was early entry day for disney guests and also on a thursday.

We just got back yesterday :(

However, we managed to ride Everest three times.

The ride seemed in full operation, even fast pass was running well.

They also offer a really fast single rider line.

I guess the official opening is April and until then you just take your chance, but unless there are any major problems I reckon it is practicably operational.

Oh, and by the way....it's great, lol.

What sort of ride is it, my youngest DD doesn't like 'wild rides' as she calls them so is it fast and furious ? lol

It's not too wild to be honest, bit like Thunder Road Mountain. It's just really well themed and has some good twists to it.

Lots of young kids and scaredy cats riding it when we were there and all seemed to love it. It's a good family ride I think.

How old is she?

I can't wait to give it a go! I must admit i'm a bit apprehensive though about the dark bits and going backwards - i'm such a wimp!

my DS 6 1/2 went on it and he loved it. But I did see a girl of a similar age come off it crying her eyes out and saying " it went backwards" " dont make me go on it again!"
