View Full Version : 'Official' Photos in MK

Touch of Tink

Possibly a bit premature with this question as we are not going until November, but has anybody had their photo done at MK by one of their photographers where the put a character on your hand. When we went in Jan 2005 we were thrilled to see Tinkerbell on our hands as we were expecting the Mouse. But best of all, when our 4 year old granddaughter (who is nicknamed Tinkerbell and been throughly brainwashed by her Nan" saw the photo she looked all around the sitting room and whispered 'where is she' because she thought we had brought her home with us (ahhh). She knows we are going again and has asked if we will see Tink again, and I don't want to disappoint her by saying we will. Sorry if it seems sad, but Tink is my favourite anyway.

Many thanks, Val.:tinkani: :tinkani:

Val, what a lovely story! She sounds like a right little Sweetie! Tinkerbelle is my favourite character too, so i'd be quite keen on having one of these pictures done! Some people just never grow up!;)

I saw one of these photos yesterday on another post/thread and thought it was wonderful. I wondered where you had them taken and I also would love one taken with my 2 DD's.

P.S. Don't think it's sad at all!!!!

We had one in 2004, you just walk through main st in MK and one of the photographers will come up to you. For one pic they will say "Put your hands together flat". They then put tink on before they print :D

Excellent idea

We had one taken last year and it looks really good. If you walk up main street the photographers will be hanging around. They take one of you in front of the castle first then they ask you to put your hands together while they take another one with Tink.

Just got back & we had this done. Very cute & the kids love it.
At MGM they add Stitch for you. You have to point at the ground & he is there popping up.
And at AK you get baby Simba in your hands

How much do these cost and how long do you wait to get the product?

We had all our photos that were taken on our photo pass burned onto the CD when we were over there. That cost $99.95 I think plus sales tax. We'd had 110 photos taken around the 4 parks plus a CM played with a few of them & added bits for us to make it up to around 150.
I think that the 5 X 7 were $12.95 plus sales tax & you can either go to the park you are in at the end of the day to collect them or you can buy them online when you get home.
We went to the Grand Floridian at the end of the holiday & viewed them all together before deciding whether they were good enough for us to the CD.

Hi Sam,

Presumably once you have the CD you own the copyright to those and you can print off as many copies as you want? I am seriously thinking of doing this as it is difficult to get pics of the two of us together on our own camera :)

I don't know if it's been mentioned before, but the new Photopass service is fantastic.

You can view all your photos online and select any you want (it is possible to take a small copy for free too if you know how!)

Hi Jen*waves* good to see another scrapbooker on here.
Yes you own the copyright so can print off as many as you want. We found it perfect for getting family shots & we have some great ones of us in front of Epcot at night & in front of the castle at night which I would never of been able to take myself.
And as MonkeeHanger says it is a fantastic service & I am sure we could have had a lot more taken if we'd have been on our own as it was the kids were moaning when I asked them to stop for photos.

I don't think so Sue. At least we didn't see anywhere or anyone taking photos.

I've never seen them at DTD either, but you do get them at the water parks. The pictures make great momento's though. We were looking at ours from our two trips a couple of weeks back and it fair brings the memories back. We've looked at those holiday pics more than we've looked at our wedding pictures....I wonder what that says about us.....:d:

:tinkani: :tinkani: My young grandaughter is absolutely Tinkerbell bonkers, everything she gets, whenever possible is Tinkerbell themed. When we went to MK last year she was going on and on about talking to Tinkerbell, i had to tell her that cos Tinks is a magic fairy we wouldn't be able to see her, but if we were really lucky we might be able to hear her magic wings.;) We took her into the gift shop inside the castle, there is Tinkerbell "music" [tinkly ] and a light that chases around the top part of the wall going around the inside of the shop, it then dissapears into a box. Well she had us chasing Tinkerbell for ages, everyone was watching this little 4yr girl running around screaming for tink, but it was her face when she heard the tinkle then saw the light [ sounds like a religious experience ] i would have paid a fortune to have had a photo of it. :) So have a look in there, it kept ours quiet for ages after .

Was just trying to help by saying that if the little girl doesn't get to have a photo with Tinkerbell, this could be the next best thing. We told our grandaughter that she probably wouldn't see tink cos as a magic fairy she would be busy spreading her magic, so we took her into the gift shop, we knew that there was a "tinkle " sound and a light that goes around the wall when you hear the sound, so that the kids think that Tinks is in the room.Works for us.

Hey guys, thanks for all the tips. When we were there last year I don't remember seeing CM's taking photos except when you entered the parks, apart from the 'staged' photos of the characters. Have they increased them or was I just too star struck to notice! It would be brilliant as we will have our 1 year old granddaughter with us and it would be good to have 5 in the photo instead of 4 and having to change photographers!!! I must admit I am not the best in the world, have a tendancy to chop feet/heads off etc. Thanks again. Val.

We've never had any 'official' photo's taking on Main Street before but i'm definately gonna look out for the photographers this time! I'm always in charge of the camera as DH can't take a decent picture - even with a digital camera!:confused2 When you look back at our holiday snaps you wouldn't believe i was even on the holiday!:(

There used to be and might still be a little flaw with the photopass site ,

You get all your photos , then back home you would log onto the photopass site and view all your pics and add the fancy graphics etc.

If you right click the photo to copy you would notice that function was disabled so you could not copy your pics only purchase them , well thats what Disney thought.

You could use another browser such as Firefox to view the photpass site , but the right click wasnt disabled and you could save your photos for "free"

Ok they were not brilliant if you wanted large photos say 8x10 but as standard photos they appeared ok.

NOW i am not condoning this as we are breaching copyright and this post will probably getting modified or pulled by the ADMIN team but i am just highlightning a flaw that was or still is present on the photpass site.

Know what you mean about DH's. On the photos he took, I was on the holiday but only from my shoulders downwards. lol!!!
