View Full Version : Touring plans
I've been looking at these touring plans for the Disney parks.......
This website describes on how to get around each park the best way and to make sure you won't miss the best things.
We will only manage to visit each park once :( and our farvourit park twice on the last day....so I want to make sure we really make the best of it.
Has anybody ever done it by some plan or do you just walk in and go with the flow ???????

Ive printed off the plans for our 1st trip in may,we will see what they are like if no good we will go with the flow.Let us know if you use them.
Hi,
We "went with the flow" once and missed so much and had to queue for ages so never again.
Ok, you need to strike a balance between full on commando style (as we do) and making sure that everyone in the party enjoys the occasion.
We use The Unofficial Guide as a starter but we are always prepared to come off plan as needs arise.
Commando style doesn't suit everyone but I've seen too many queues at over 2 hours long with fractious kids in tow.

Everyone's plans will differ depending on their priorities and the ages of everyone in the group.
As a general rule get to the parks early, do the main attractions first or get Fast passes for later and try to move in the opposite direction to the crowds. Eat at off peak times and if you have already seen the parades or fireworks use that time to do some of the big rides as they will be quieter.
It always helps to have a plan especially for first timers. There is so much to distract you that you need to have an idea of which order you want to do things to be sure of fitting it all in.
Not sure what the plan says but always do MK clockwise - head left first and then continue around. The CM on our K2K tour confirmed that the crowds head for Tomorrowland first (as it opens first) then go anticlockwise to Fantasyland etc. She stated that the crowds are always much less in Frontier and Adventureland first thing.
Thank you very much for that advice.......that will really help.
What about AK or MGM...??? Any direction or order that you can recommend....

We all want to do BTMR and Splash Mountain, however we will also have DD with us who wants to ride the carousel, Dumbo etc in FantasyLand. At 4 standing in queues is not her list of things to do (actually standing still for 10 seconds is a bit of an effort for her).
Would it be an idea for me to run down to Splash Mountain to get FPs and join back up with the group in FantasyLand to ride some of these before the queues get too big?

That sounds like a good plan. If you get there early, chances are that you could do Dumbo etc fairly quickly as crowds do linger around Buzz, Stich, Speedway etc - the rope drop leads people to Tomrrowland first and many hang around to do everything there rather than move on. Fantasyland is very popular as it has all the rides for the little ones, but you would not have long waits if you are there early enough. Also, depends on EMH and time of year of course!
If you really want to do Dumbo (as I'm sure a 4 year old would) then you need to get to MK early or for rope drop to stand any chance.
It's one of the slowest loaders in the parks: -
1. You queue up
2. The ride stops
3. Everyone gets off the ride
4. Only when people have left the exit is the entry gate is opened
5. People are counted in
6. All seat belts are checked and off you go
As you say - get others to get FPs for the other rides whilst waiting in line.
