Hi - newbie here,
yesterday i trauled the site looking for advice about tickets, great stuff by the way folks . I found my way to the universal site and the offer for a free kids tickets for every 2 day 2 park ticket purchased on the web. I also read some people were having problems purchasing on the site. Can't seem to find that thread again so thought I would just share this:
I couldn't purchase with my visa card (I kept getting error messages) however have now used my Mastercard (site seems to be run by Mastercard) and have managed to get the tickets bought.
Doing it on the net means you end up with kiosk tickets, so you need to make sure you take your mastercard with you when you go, hope this is helpful for those who had probs, (But obviously only if you have mastercard - sorry!)

We had problems :mad2: trying to book on line as you pointed out. Eventually phoned direct and booked them there and then under the deal. Informed then that the site was been upgraded and everything would be in full working order by the end of January 2006. Obviously still having problems:angry: But why doesn't that surprise me with universal.

We also tried numerous times with our visa card, but when we used Mastercard no problem at all ! Tickets arrived a few days later via FedEx.

Just be aware every time you try to book it freezes that amount in your account - i doesn't take it out but reserves the amount and stops you using it. (Or so universal told me) It unreleases after a couple of days. Just didn't want you to be red faced if you go shopping.

I booked tickets for a friend about three weeks ago, no problems at all with the booking, the tickets came within two weeks, and they are actual tickets not vouchers or anything.

Can I just clarify something about these tickets. The Universal site says they are "Only Kiosk Pickup is available for this ticket!" but some of you say you booked online with Mastercard and then received the tickets.

So, you get the actual tickets do you?

When I phoned they said oh there is time to send them through but if they don't arrive go to the kiosk when you get there!!!!!!(very proffesional)

However they arrived within two weeks.

When i ordered mine i didn't get the option to have them posted, the only option was picking up from the kiosk. :confused2

I dont mind though, as long as i remember to take the credit card with me!:)

I understand the rules changed mid Feb to only being 'Kiosk Pickup'. When they sent tickets there was a $20 p & p charge - is it still there? I would guess that if they're not charging that then they're not sending tickets.

It may be possible to phone and still get the actual tickets.

We opted to pick them up at the park as oppossed to paying the $20 p&p! My receipt says i will need to take my booking reference and the card we paid with to any of the electronic booths located at the park entrances!

Just booked our 2day/2 park tickets.

Thanks Vabeth for highlighting the $99.95 offer plus 3 extra days, plus 1 child ticket free. What a bargain. We too have opted for the collection at the kiosk. Just gotta remember to ake everything to the park on the day.

Thanks again.

You're more than welcome Kirlie! I can't resist a bargain!;) I know what you mean about trying to remember everything - we booked the whole holiday (flights, hotels, tickets) online, so i've got a file downloaded of everything i can possibly think of, i've also printed everything out and given a copy to the friends we are going with! Now i just need to convince myself DH won't lose the credit card it was booked on and i'll be fine!:omg:

I had the exact same problem when I tried to buy about 3 or 4 weeks ago. I probably tried about 6 times (visa) and also with my wifes card with no joy. I emailed them - but got no reply.

I phoned my back who told me they had give authority for the purchase every time I tried.

Worried I might get a deludge of tickets, I phoned them. At first the guy just put me through to sales - where I was cut off after being on hold for 15 minutes. The next time, they offered to call back. It took ages for them to sort it out (Do Universal outsource to Indian call centres?), but eventually after several calls, the "authorities" were cancelled and a new order placed.

Not wanting to pay the $20 postage charges, I was told I could collect - or they could post them free of charge. They arrived after 4 days - and from what I can see, are 4 adult tickets (ie no mention of child mentioned.)

Only 5 weeks to go;-)
