You get a main meal with a choice one of which is a veggie option, although depending on where you are sat one of the choices could have gone, this has happened to us! later in the flight you are offered a light snack, such as a sandwich and muffin again with a choice of filling. The food is usually OK

Regarding choices running out - I always pre-order a veggie meal because I am sooooo picky with what meats I eat! At least this way I am fairly certain to end up with something I can eat :)

you are allowed one alcoholic or soft drink not long after take off.

they periodically come round with juice or water. with your meal you get wine choice of red or white and kids get juice.

can also help yourself from juice jugs kept at the galley.

All drinks on virgin are free, soft drinks, Alcholic drinks, water, juice theres no limit, obvioulsy they will watch your alcohol intake, although saying this, myself mum and dad had a fair few one year on the way back

If you want any drinks just go to the galley or press the button. At the end of the day you've paid for them in your ticket price!!

As for food we had fantastic meals outbound last year, I NEVER eat airplane food and I actually did eat this.

Last time i flew with Virgin, some bloke who was sitting opposite kept on pressing the call button on his arm rest to ask for beer! I swear he must have had about ten! *lol* I did get a bit merry on the way to Orlando once with Virgin, i must admit, but it was my birthday! ;)

Tina if your kids don't like the childrens meals that are on offer on the day I would ask if they could have an adult meal - the cabin crew will usually have some spares and may be grateful of the childrens meals you ordered for some passengers that forgot to do so.

you can drink as much as you want ( don't get drunk or dehydrated though )
I usually ask for a double double and 4 cans to go with it, so as not to be a nuisance to the FA's, other than that I wander up to the galley and ask for a drink.

The food is "OK" on Virgin, personally I thought the kids meals were a waste of time.

Yes - tea & coffee is served after the meals. Not sure about between meals but one kind cabin crew member bought me a cuppa during a night flight when she saw me shivering with the cold (Iwas near an exit door).

We've just got back with virgin on the gatwick flight and had some good meals.

On the way there they had a veggie pasta option, spicy chicken or bangers and mash. I had the bangers and mash which was really nice and they generally give you a good amount. On the way back there was a veggie option, beef bourguigonne or bbq chicken. They gave us this lovely oreo cheese cake which is delicious. Throughout the flight we were always offered drinks. Was pleased with the food overall.
