Some advice please! At the moment I am staying at Doubletree Universal for 2 weeks at the end of May/beginning of June. I am thinking of ringing Virgin and asking if we can switch our last 2 nights and stay on site in one of the Disney value resorts. Is this a good idea and which one is best (have a 5 year old daughter).

Hi

We have not stayed at Pop Century but I am sure your daughter will just love the theming of The Movies.

My kids loved staying at the movies. There is lots of theming (we were at the toy story end) and they loved the swimming pool. Sorry cannot comment on pop century as never been there.

Any reason for doing it for the last two nights (rather than any longer period)?

We've stayed at AS twice and have all loved it. But we prefer to stay onsite to anything else.

I stayed at All Star Movies, and we seen Pop Century, both are well themed, but Movies, has that little more Disney Magic, because it's theming is around Disney Movies such as 101 Dalmations, Toy Story and Herbie. We enjoyed staying there so much we are going back there in October.

Ok, ive stayed at all 3 hotels.
Personally between Pop ana ASMo, id choose Pop, just coz its bigger and newer, but if youve got small kids, ASMo is much better for its theming.

The first time, we did one week at Pop followed by one week at Doubletree Universal. It meant we could do a whole week of Disney followed by US/IOA, Seaworld etc. the second week. The hotel has excellent shuttles to most attractions (but not Disney) US is a five minute walk but across a V V busy road (we could watch Dr Doom and the Hulk from our window!)

If you have any specific questions about any of the 3 hotels, feel free to ask!

We've just stayed for a fortnight at the pop, the resort itself is bright & colourful, rooms are nothing special quite basic but who cares when you're out all day in the parks
have a fantastic trip whatever you decide!

IMO you can't beat staying onsite if you have young children, very convenient for rests during the day. Also I get very excited about staying onsite! Last time we stayed at ASMovies, it was fab and in Sept we are staying in Pop. I would say which ever of those works out cheaper go for it.

stayed for 2 weeks at movies in november, loved the whole thing. loved just to wander around the hotel looking at the different movie themed accommodation blocks. we stayed in the mighty ducks area. the rooms are pretty basic, but when you only spend a few hours there for sleeping who cares.....
accommodation blocks i can remember are, toy story, 101 dalmations, mighty ducks, herbie, & fantasia.

not stayed at pop century but still looks very nice, giant rubix cubes and play doh!!!!
