we have stayed at the all star sports, great location, transport to parks is good (like all on-site hotels) rooms aren't roomy when you have family of 4/5 staying there, but you only sleep there don't you
if you want a disney hotel these are the most affordable by far, have only seen pop century from the road sorry
if the kids are into buzz lightyear 101 dalmations etc all start movies is good

I have stayed in a majority of disney hotels, and for a value, Pop century is very good, food court is very good, rooms clean, and suitable for 2-3 people, wouldnt want to stay in them with the family(but then that could be just me!)
I found less children at this hotel as opposed to the all stars choices.Certainly there was no noise. Buses were very good, and ran better than the service we received at Coronado springs.
I would stay here again,
Jules
Ive stayed at both Pop and ASMo. I prefer Pop as its bigger/newer, but if you have younger kids, All Stars would be better purely for the theming.
I found the buses at Pop much better coz ASMo is the last of the All Stars to get picked up, so it makes for a lot of standing!!

We've just come back from 2 weeks at the pop, the resort itself is bright & colourful, the rooms are in my opinion nothing special its as you'd expect basic good value, but when you're out at the parks all day it doesn't really matter

We have stayed at All Star Movies a couple of times. We tend to have two rooms, this gives us more space for the 4 of us, plus most importantly for us, two bathrooms!!!!!!!!!!! Having 4 people and only one shower is a real pain!!!!

I have stayed at both. I prefer the Movies as the parking is easier. That is all round the outside, whereas in Pop the accommodations at the back have quite a walk to the car. Apart from that no real differences. Both are great and you cannot beat on site !!

I enjoy all of the All Star resorts purely because it has more of a Disney feel with all the super-sized objects whereas if you go to Swan or Dolphin it just doesn't feel like Disney.
I have stayed at both All Star Movies and All Star Sports and i would thoroughly recommend both of them as they are great value for money, transport is easy and is close to both AK and MGM, and the food is great especially breakfast. All Star Sports for me...

thanks guys
what would you do then we dont have kids both in our 30s (just 2 of us) so is it best to pay the same money and get a nice hotel outside Disney. As we could get something really nice for the same money.
any suggestions of nice hotels would be wicked :)
thanks again

Personally(and what ive done when Ive gone without the family), seeeing as you have considered a value, why not push the boat out and opt for a moderate rather than a hotel outside of disney. The moderates do differ greatly to the value resorts, and are worth paying extra, ontop of that you have, Extra Magic hour as an onsite guest(both morning and night), package delivery to your hotel(so no carrying your presents round all day), free parking, and the added bonus of being ontop of the magic. if it was me, then it'd be disney all the way, but then I suppose it depends on your budget!.

Hi jules
i was thinking that to. Fancied the carribean beach resort not much more money. i have never stayed on site and was not really sure if it was worth the money. love the thought of extra hours and stuff and silly things like the free parking and knowing you are staying there. This way we get chilling time to.
any recommendations
Hi Tracy my first visit was just me & DD we were about 29 then and we stayed in All Stars Movies and we both loved it. We spent so little time actually in our room that I don't think it was worth upgrading to a moderate. I loved the theming of the rooms and the resort we stayed in Dalmations. It is so convenient staying onsite, this time we have a DD(5) to take with us and we are staying in Pop Century, I can't wait.
I think wherever you stay onsite it will be a fab hol.

hey everyone
The choice i think now is between all stars/carribean or somewhere on idrive.
do you think the rooms differ much between value to moderate from pics they dont seem to?

IMHO if there is just the 2 of you going, you'd be better staying at one of the moderate resorts, my personal favourite is Port Orleans French Quarter, its very romantic, and if you stay on site you get to have the magic extra hours.

Pop is great for all the family, we have two young kids who dont want to go anywhere else.
The only problem I found was that the bus stops for pop are always the furthest away from the park gates.(not really a problem)
I would stay at Pop or ASMo, ask for a top floor, cuts out any noise overhead and spend the money saved from not booking a moderate.

We stayed at Pop Century in September 2004 and had a fantastic time - the hotel was brilliant value for money and I would definately go back.
Cara - which block did you stay in any tips for a good place to stay
50's, 60's, 70's. I have stayed in ASM but Sept is the first time in Pop.
Thanks
