MY favourite place is Texas de Brazil, pricey but fabulous meats and service. Caters to the grown up brigade and quite posh!

Mannys is good and can recommend the Filet with blue cheese but there are better steaks out there as it is more home cooked type of meals. Mind you we visit each trip as it is only 15-20 minutes from the villa, so they must be doing something right!

Outback is on our list of places not to go after two badly cooked steaks, we only went back on the second ocassion as friends wanted to go.

Black Angus is our favourite bar but always thought it quite expensive and not that exciting a menu. Our favourite is the Outback at Clearwater Beach, always add on a lobster tail for around $2 which is nothing.

My fav was always Daryls on IDrive but last year it had gone and is now a mexican:(

Best steak for me was at Charlies, last year I went to The Butchers Shop and it was lovely too but $500 for a family of four:omg: :tounge:

If anyone can commend a "fairly" decent restaurant with more normal prices for everyday meals i would appreciate it, I normally expect to spend about $100 for two peeps. Someone mentioned one on Sandlake, please could you give me a bit more ddeetail on thatone, I will be staying at The Wyndham OR

Think the prices at ruths chris are about the same as the outback, roughly $20 for a top quality 12oz filet mignion. They also do a kids menu which isnt advertised on their website (i emailed them last week and asked) for $12.95 the kids get a choice of either baby fillet, grilled salmon or grilled chicken breast with choice of potato's salad and veg, a drink and a mini tub of hagen daz ice cream is also included in the price which i thought was very reasonable. Ruths chris is a place that the locals go and always comes out rated highly on trip advisor and the orlando dining guide :) I will be sure to let you all know what it was like when I get back!

I'm sure you will love Le Cellier, its my favourite restaurant in the whole world....you must have the beef and barley soup for starters, and then 14 oz New York Strip Steak with Yukon Potatoes and Veal Demi Glace (which is a little gravy sauce made with the juices that the steak is cooked in....mmmm!). I want it NOW!! Lol! :d:

I don`t mean to sound thick but what are Yukon potates? :confused2 Are they a particular type of potato? Also, the sauce sounds gorgeous but it has the word "veal" in it. I`m totally against eating veal so does the sauce have anything to do with veal or is it just a fancy name they have given it? Thanks.

I would like to know about the veal reference too fiona, I have only ever tried it once and hated it, literally had to run to the loo with a napkin over my mouth. I was worried that the steak would be served with a slice of veal on top and red wine reduction or something similar. I am hoping its just a posh word for steak sauce!

Lol, its just a posh word for the sauce.....it really is gorgeous. Yukon Potatoes are like the little potatoes with skin on. It really is a sexy meal!! I'd love to marry the chef so I could have it every day! The food that is ;)

We`ve passed this place loads of times and have always wondered what it is like. Am I thinking of the right one though? The one I am thinking of is built underneath an adventure golf place. Could be Hawaiian Golf, but not 100% sure.

We had a wonderful and romantic steak meal at The Butchers Shop at the Mercado last October. Huge portions and, yes, it wasn't cheap, but, I thought it was well worth the money. :)

I find Key W Kools to be most consistently best. I love the filet mignon.
This place converted my wife to a steak eater, she wouldn't touch it til we ate there.
Last year i also tried Ruths which was excellent but pricey,Charlys again excellent but pricey, Houlihans further down the 192 (the new one) which was also good, Mannys was simple but good, magic mining and black angus which were both average and the outback on the 192 (Formosa) which was awful.
I'm luck enough to be going back in June and will be back at Kools atleast twice. Houlihans,Mannys will get a visit each and i'm thinking of trying Texas de Brazil.
Does anyone know of any others that are really good that i need to try, whose holding out and keeping there favourite quiet.
:D
