Hi there, we are in the process of sorting out a trip for next May.. We have found a villa in Crescent lakes which looks ideal and i would love to hear some views/reviews from anybody that has been... Such as how quiet is it?? how far from I Drive ?? Any Villa Reccomendations ect ect.. Any comments greatfully recieved!.. Many thanks in Advance...

Alternatively, this will be our first time renting a villa and we are looking to be a bit out of the 'hussle-bussle' but close enough if you know what i mean.. We are keen on walking and nature ect so if anybody could suggest an alternative 'community' which fits the bill then that would be fantastic too..

Thanks in advance!!

Hi

We stayed at Crescent Lakes last year. Its a quiet area but we found it too far away from Disney and I Drive. Plus its far away from all restaurants etc - we got lost a lot as well. I would say it was about a 25 min drive to Disney and 35 mins (if you dont get lost) to I Drive. The Villa was really nice but we found the location too far away from the action.

I have to agree with Stugers that is a little bit too far for our liking. The area was nice with a lot of residential homes, not just holiday villas.. I dont remember if there were any nature trails/walks nearby...we certainly didnt find them if there were.

There are closer areas to disney and the 192 just up from Crescent lakes.....Indian Point, Eagle Point, Terra Verde, Liberty Village(I think) and Cumbrian Lakes. I have not stayed there but when we drove past them...wished we did lol.

This year we are staying in Emerald Island which is futher along the 192 and supposed to be quicker access to Disney so we shall see.

However if you have found a fab villa at the right price I guess you'll just have to weigh up the pros and the cons and go with what you feel best.

We cant post links to our fav villa but there are some available on the Dibb and you could google and you'll find LOADS.

We stayed in a villa at Crescent Lakes in 2004. Although the villa was beautiful it was just too far out...:(

It wasnt somewhere you could just pop back for an afternoon swim, and go back to the parks (well u could have - but very time consuming ).

As mentioned on replies above there are many more communities around the 192/poincinana that I think are more suitable.

No offence to any owners in CLakes .....

We are staying in Terra Verde (4 weeks today ) cant wait -hope weve chosen well............

It is definitely a long way out and not on most peoples list of 'handy for Disney' homes.
Long long way down Poinciana Boulevard and whilst they are unlikely to start this year there are plans for major roadworks to widen the road.

Hi

Sorry but have to agree with all the others. Too far out however is a lovely community. :)

am going to crescent lakes in sept yes not the closest to the parks (been doing route finder on google earth) but some of the biggest homes in area and under 20 miles to epcot. personally i think nothing of driving 200 miles in a day to do alton towers.

I think Crescent Lakes is a lovely community have stayed here in a beautiful villa a few years ago and although we have since stayed on the 27 which is still a pretty long stretch i would definitely stay at Crescent Lakes again - it is nice to get away from it all to a quite haven. Have a great trip :d: :d:

I agree with everybody, if you want to be close enough to return home during the day and go back to one of the parks again later, then I would say it involves too much travelling:nonono: . I like to spend my time at the attractions, not in a car:mad2: :mad2:. Plus, all the communities wherever they are, are quiet. There is no noise or hustle on the estates.

I agree with you Bec, the drive down Poinciana to Crescent lakes is not much further than Cumbrian Lakes and if you are not bothered about an extra 5 mins in the car then don't worry about it. The most important thing is that the villa is to your liking and within budget. There are plenty of places to eat within 5-10mins and walmart is 5 mins away. I have been three times and never even thought about popping back for a swim in the afternoon.

If you can wait 3 1/2 weeks i can tell you as i go on Thursday. We chose the location this time on price, having always stayed around the Formosa Gardens (Rolling Hillsx2,Indian Creek,Sunset Lake ) area and both NewHaven and further down the 535 (Thousand Oaks).
We tend to like to travel anyway to go to our favourite restuarants that are spread from Mall at Millenia to Southern Dunes (27) .
The most important thing to us is a nice villa. On some closer estates the villa are on top of each other and can be very overlooked.I like to be away from the crowds and not part of it ,even when by the pool. You would be supriced just how close some pools are to each other.
I normally go for a drive round whilst there (i am that sad and nosey) to see alternative routes etc and i didn't think it was so far out to cause problems. You don't have to use Poinciana Boulevard you can use a few other routes too. I'll post them on here when i get back and have checked them all out.
