We all have different views on which part of Orlando we should stay when taking that 'holiday of a lifetime'
We love to stay in Lake Buena Vista. Preferably in one of the all suite resorts....(cypress pointe being a preference) this is a family who love each other, but we need our space. :D
Love the resturants in the area, Chilis, Tony Romas, Steak'n'shake, Bahama Breeze, Outback, I could go on......
Especially love the proximity to Downtown Disney and the easy drive to Universal and Seaworld.
Premium Outlets is just a short drive, around the corner. up palm parkway and voila :D
Where do you like to stay and why?

:thumb: I love to stay at different places, to get a feeling for the different areas, UNiveral for the good hotels, I-drive fo restuants and shopping and onsite because, well, becsue it is disney!. One day hopefully I will get enough time to stay on the gulf coast for a few days,... but there is so much to do. I like to move around to try and fit it all in.
Wherever you stay, it all has one BIG plus point, you are in ORLANDO:jump: :jump: :jump:

We stayed in LBV the first 2 times which we enjoyed then I Drive for a change and have been back to I Drive each year since. We like I Drive because we like to take the car back to the hotel after a day at the parks and walk for somewhere to eat and there are loads of restaurants you can walk to.
This year we are ready for a change again so will be trying a villa.

We stayed on the I Drive because it suits our type of holiday. We don't drive over there so it's easy to get to all the parks. It's great in the evenings to have somewhere to walk and eat. You can get to the outlet malls easy from here too.
We are doing something completely different this year by staying onsite so it will be interesting to see how this holiday differs from the others.

We stayed in LBV and liked the location but now our favorite 3 spots are
A villa in the Rolling Hills area. It is close to the 192 with all it's restaurants and the short cut means you can be on Disney property in 5 minutes. It is also a short hop to the I-4 for Universal & Seaworld. Plenty of space and our own pool
We also like staying on-site at DVC which also has plenty of space and all the on-site facilities and lastly Disney's Vero beach which is a relaxing change from Orlando. It's like 3 holidays in one :D

We always stay in a Disney resort and we love it because of all the extra's. To have one hour extra in the park in the morning, three hours extra at night, and to not have to carry bags and bags of stuff bought in the parks just adds to the already fantastic experience that the Disney Cast Members set up for you.
I'm sure from now on we'll love DVC accomodation since we now own points at OKW, but it's Disney Resorts for us everytime.

In the past we have always stayed on I-Drive. We really enjoy this area as it has loads of fantastic restaurants all in walking distance from your hotel. There is Pirates cove, Wet n Wild, Universal, Seaworld, DC and premium Outlets all within easy reach.
This year is going to be a big change staying at a WDW resort hotel;) ;)

we love staying in a villa in the Rolling Hils/Formossa Gardens area. Beautiful homes in a great location, close to the action.
We are trying a villa on the Gulf coast this year, So we'll see how that goes. Can't wait!!!!

Have always stayed on 192 maingate west with an exception of when we had a villa on hwy 27, a convenient area for restaurants, shops and quick route to disney, last year stayed on site at ASMO, also an excellent location for getting to the parks and to DTD...

We have always stayed at the Seaworld end of I Drive and really like this because its in the middle of everything! Also Seaworld is probably our fav park so we can walk to it in 10 mins.
Stayed in tower at Sheraton last April and would probably stay here again because the location was so brilliant.

We are staying this October for the first time at LBV and have chosen this area for a couple of reasons. We visited the area first when leaving DTD and saw a Golden Corral, which we love, and decided to go in there for our evening meal. After a further couple of visits to the area, we decided that this was the place for us to stay next time. The abundance of our favourite restaurants and proximity to DTD were the main priorities, plus it just seems so central for all the parks, not just Disney.

We love the real Florida so bought a villa in a residential area not too far from the action but not too far from the real Florida either so that is where we like staying!! Also love the Gulf Coast and try to pop down for a couple of days most trips. We try to do living like locals lifestyle so only go to the "main areas" when we have to.

We love LBV, so handy for Downtown Disney, an easy drive to all the parks avoiding I4, and brilliant selection of all our favourite restaurants. Premium Outlets and LBV Factory Stores close by. Everything we need is right there. Now that we know the area well it is easy to get to where we want to go.
Mind you, I'd stay anywhere just to be in Florida!

I love to stay onsite because you never have to leave the 'magic' and encounter the real world. I love coming back to my hotel in the evening and still feeling I am in a special place. Love the buses to the parks, the cheerful CMs we encounter everywhere, the towel animals and daft things the kids toys do while we are out, charging things to my room (really love that!), Can you tell, I just love it!
There are usually only two of us, so villas are too big and we do not like the extra travel often involved. Out of choice, we prefer to stay onsite BUT we tried a moderate (Coronado Springs) and were quite dismayed at the smaller room and storage space, compared to having spoiled ourselves at Wilderness Lodge previously. Obviously this costs more, so last time out we stayed at LBV and loved it!! Accommodation was great, as were the local restaurant choice and road links. On a budgeted trip we would now always stay there.
For the future, I would love to be able to buy into DVC as the drawback of staying in the hotels is no kitchen/seated area which can get to be a pain if you want to spend anytime in your accommodation.
I love to stay onsite to experience 24/7 Disney :thumbs-up I eat, drink and sleep Disney, to me it's the best holiday ever. I've stayed at moderates and deluxes and although I prefer that little bit of 'luxury' of a deluxe resort I prefer the theming and overall experience of the moderates.

We always stay at HGVC (Tuscany Village) because it has everything we want from a holiday. A two bedroomed unit of pure luxury with massive jaccuzi in the en-suite, washer/dryer (won't go anywhere without these facilities) and all the usual home comforts. Fantastic themed swimming pool, childrens play area, tennis courts, basket ball courts, lake, coffee shop, pool bar (the list goes on). Although we have a kitchen we never cook, but it's great to have the facilities to stock beers, ice cream, cakes, crisps and all other snacking items. We eat out at every opportunity, as the restaurant choices are vast.
Have stayed on site (disney) but prefer to experience the real Orlando/Florida and like to get away from that 24 hour disney thing.
Its great there is so much choice in Orlando to suit all needs.
We haven't stayed in a hotel for several years now (only when we visit cities for long weekends away) as we prefer not to be confined to one room. Even when we go to other places abroad we choose villas, lodges, etc. Thanks to our Hilton timeshare , best buy ever.
