Probably yes, I know there were several pubs showing live games during the last European cup, The trouble is, that its obviously ok to rip off british people in other countries as well as our own, most of the pubs were charging hefty admission fees to watch the game.

It will be on TV so if you are staying in a villa it will be easy to watch. The USA team have qualified so they will probably show it somewhere. The Fox channel showed a lot of football last year including live premiership games. It was a bit odd seeing live football though starting at 8.00am!!

No doubt. We have a digital cable tv package and it shows live premiership matches on the Fox soccer channel so it is likely they will show the worldcup matches too.............deep joy!

depending on where your staying there is a couple of good pubs on the 192 which have showed games when we were out for EURO 2000 and the Arsenal FA Cup final 2005 - Coconut Willy's and The Fox and Hound. If I remember rightly we had to pay to get into the Fox and Hound - nice traditional pub but be warned, no air con so it can get a bit warm!

We also happened to catch the Liverpool Champions League match when we visited HOOTERS at Pointe Orlando! (just for confirmation, I am female and the girls in there were very pleasant ;p )

Currently as far as I know there are no TV schedules available for the 2006 World Cup games being shown in Florida.
Anyone telling you it will be on in their vacation home or in their local bar is presently having a bout of wishfull thinking:d: .
If its anything like previous big football events it will be Pay per view and they don't do it cheap.
For the last Euro 2004 games pubs/bars were being charged up to $2000 per game so if they charge you $20 to watch you can hardly call it a rip off.

Don't know how true it is but we have heard that they may be putting tv's in Rose and Crown, Epcot, to show the matches. Like I say I don't know if this is true!!!!!!!

Of course it will be on TV. Just that nobody yet knows what games will be on what station and at what cost if any to the viewer:d: :d:
There have been no further announcements since last August.

I think you are mistaken, The World Cup is not until 2007 in France, where the boys will be defending their trophy!;)

The last info put out was in August 2005 and as far as I know nothing has been said since so the general public are still in the dark whether they will get these games in the packages they currently subscribe to.
The last Euro 2004 games were not available for private subscription and were only available to commercial subscribers and they had to pay through the nose for them. I am not saying that the same thing will happen again but it might just happen therefore nobody can say at this stage that they will be showing the games.

Well I think thats what I meant:d:

So does that mean if you receive ABC, ESPN and ESPN2 at the villa then you'll be okay for all matches?

Its looking like that. Substantial improvement on last time but it makes you wonder why its taken them all of this time to announce something.

The improvement Terry is due to the USA qualifying. Euro 2004 seemed to pass them by:)

hope so, arrive just before the final

When we went in 1986, we arrived just after "the hand of God" goal. We expected to at least be able to see the final - but it wasnt on anywhere. It was fine in 90 though with games on all over the place. 2006 will be fine. Relax (unless we are in the final (ha ha ha!!!)

BTW Gary - you dont half look like Alan Shearer! :tounge:

Have a look at the world cup site to see the times - then take off 5 hours. Mind you, many will be shown delayed rather than live. Wont matter much if you dont know the scores!

I would think (and I am guessing) the majority of the games will be at 4 and 9pm....with a few at 1pm (German times - so take off 6 hours for Florida)

So, let me get this right; If I want to watch England v Paraguay and Endland v Sweden it'll cost me $40 plus cost of booze?

Stuff that; telly moved to facing the pool in the villa, Sat on edge of pool - feet in water, Ice cold beer in hand and try not to wake the wife up when we beat the Sweeds again :cool2:

Just had a thought - with all the 'Brit' pubs charging silly money just to watch the games - why not all us guys that are out there during the matches get together to watch the games at a villa? Preferably the one with the biggest TV :cool2:
