View Full Version : Pool Heating In April/may?
Hi
Just wondering what the consensus is regarding pool heating in April / May.
We travel out on the 26 April to 10 May have a south facing pool, but are travelling with a 6 year old and an 8 month baby. Will the pool be warm enough for them both if the outside temp is reasonable. The baby will obviously only going in for few minutes each time but I wouldnt want her to catch a chill.
Any advice please
Dave

I thought the pool was a bit chilly for me last year but once you are under it was fine, but for a baby then maybe you do need pool heating it all depends on the weather and if the sun is on the pool all morning/day.

Hi!
The first year we went to Disney was in April, we had no pool heat and the pool was so cold we only braved it once! Ever since then we've always had pool heat in April and it's been lovely. I think on average they heat the pool to around 10 degrees above the air temp. I wouldn't go in April without it!

WE have also booked heat for our trip as we were told by friends it can be quite chilly especially in the evenings when you get back from the parks and for early morning swims......

We have booked pool heat too, even though we are there in June, I figured the pool will get used mainly at night and early mornings and it seemed madness to have the pool right there but not be able to use it because it was too cold! :)

You definitely need the pool heating on at this time of the year, so book it in advance. The air temperature will be lovely, warm and quite probably hot. I always took my kids in the water from being a few months old and they loved it!

i would get pool heating if taking children, adults would be ok without. we dont have pool heating as once you are in your body adjusts to it. it may frighten babies and younger children esp if you get a couple of days overcast where the sun is not getting to it.

We are over in our villa at the moment it is cold in the morning so would advise pool heat even better if the villa you are staying at has a pool blanket do use it :thumbs-up
when we take of the pool blanket steam coming of the water its like stepping into a warm bath :d: :d:
We had a swim tonight once the kids had settled down for the night:tounge:

Thanks for the replies.
I have spoke to the Villa agent and booked the heating. £70 per week which I thought wasnt bad.
