For those who are interested, it looks like WDW is running the free dining promotion again. More details on www.mousesavers.com
No good for me as we're not going till October but might help somebody :)
Hi, I already have a package booked with Thomson/Portland who no longer do Disney dining and have 14 day ultimate tickets booked with Disney, is there any way of still twiddling with my booking to get disney dining free.

Just wondering if we can go a week earlier now to take advantage of this :confused2 or a week extra ;) hehe, think my imagination is running away with me now! Anyone know if this would be possible, adding an extra week to existing booking?

if you booked directly with disney Lynn you can change it, keep in mind this is part of a package, so park tickets + rack rate room = free dining. If you have booked a package with a tour op, it can sometimes still work out cheaper by booking a value resort room, base ticket and get free dining and not use the room, I have done this for a fellow dibber last year to get the free dining for them.
Clare, you can book this through myself if you wish or you can call disney direct and book the package, you do need to include park tickets of some description to do this.

We have booked a package with First Choice, Val. I was holding off on the park tickets as we were undecided about the dining plan, but was told we could add it if we wanted (obviously we'd need to be buying park tickets too). Am I right that the free dining isn't bookable until Tuesday 4th even for TAs? I'm tempted to see whether we can do an extra week as I do love my 3 week breaks and the free dining would be lovely.

Just out of interest, do these kind of offers work where as long as you check in before 30th september the free dining is good for your entire stay, or would the holiday have to be taken within the dates??
You never know they may offer this again next year ;) ;)

First Choice will not be able to apply free dining to your package.
You have 2 choices now, ditch the accomm through First Choice and book all the accomm through Disney plus even the minimum park ticket requirement.
OR
book up to 10 days with free dining at Movies, keep in mind though that the free dining expires at midnight of the day you check out and cannot be carried forward to be used during the rest of your stay. you probably know this already but it is worth mentioning again.

Max length of package is 10 days, so as long as check in is no later than 30th Sept then you can have up to 10 days .....

If it makes you feel any better I cannot use it either, would love to but it will end up costing me a fortune, one of these days though......;)

I'm there from August 27th for 14 days so will qualify for this package. I have booked accomodation and got the 14 day ultimate ticket from TCD. Will I be able to include the free dining plan if I change my booking with TCD or will I have to cancel accomodation and tickets and book through Disney direct, I think if I have do the latter I'd end up worse off? :confused2

Chris
you could look at buying a base 1 day ticket along with the accommodation at full rack rate and see if it pays you to make these changes.
Keep in mind your tour op may charge you an amendment fee as they would be losing money on your booking.

Thanks for that Val :)
Damn, we could have gone for that last year (it says it was hugely popular last Fall) when we there in September.
No chance of them ever offering it at Christmas is there?:(

haaaaahhaaaaahhhhaaaaa ... sorry Sue, errrmmm not a chance, this is still to encourage domestic travellers to brave the hurricane season for a trip down. They know us brits are daft enough to go over ... ;)
If the maximum you can book is 10 nights how do you turn this into a 14 night hol can you book 10 + 4 nights

Hi Flo yes you need to do 2 bookings, however watch out, because this will require you to buy 2 x base tickets, 1 per person per booking .... and make sure if your 14 night stay is over 30/09 that you do say 9 nights up to 29/09 and then 5 nights from 30/09 to cover the full duration.

hope you don't mind me asking  but we have booked flight and hotel thru Virgin. It's during the offer period. Is there any way we can get the plan?
Thanks
Cinders Mum
1 Apr 06, 04:17 PM
the only way would be to pay for a value room rate with a 1 x 1 day base ticket per person, and not use the room or the ticket .... you'd have to check into the resort and check out but apart from that the only alternative is to cancel the accomm through Virgin and buy in from Disney
liloandstitch
1 Apr 06, 04:25 PM
so we'd have to either pay twicw for a room or pay cancellation fees to virgin and book direct?
Cinders Mum

depending on how many are in your party then although it sounds mad but yes paying for a room you won't use could still be cheaper than paying for dining plan for you all. Or not cancelling the whole thing with VHols just the hotel portion, keeping the flights and basic car hire (no insurances if you are not driving) it could still be cheaper for you ....
you really need to do some research to see how much this is worth to you personally as each person has different needs so savings are variable.

thanks for that
I'll check it all out but there's only two of us so it might not be worth it.
Val

I am calling Disney UK on Monday for all clients affected to see the financial implications in cancelling all/or part of bookings compared to the new package with/without passes depending on each case and then I'll be contacting you with the outcomes to see how much of a gain there is for you.
Thanks for that Val ,but que sera sera........

Waiting for the screams from Val:cry: and taking cover:blush:
IF we were to change our dates by 2 weeks could you work out how much we would benefit, if at all? It would have to be alot of $s for me to change alot of our ADRs for. Pleeeeease:wavey:
