View Full Version : Epcot
Hi
DH would like to go back to Epcot this year. We went two years ago as a big group and only did bits of it. The time before that was about eight years ago. We did TT and MS and I know there is now soarin. I am not overly fussed on the world showcase side of the park. I need some help/reminders of what is on the other side to convince me I will enjoy myself. Please help!
Thanks Jo

World Showcase is fab, I wouldn't miss it. We have happily spent a long afternoon wandering round having the odd drink here and there. Also, Illuminations are well worth staying into the evening for.

It's an interactive show where Crush from Finding Nemo talks to and answers questions from the audience. He appears on a screen like he's in an aquarium and literally has conversations with the people in the audience and can pick individual people out. His expressions change according to what he is saying - I don't know how they do it and you really do have to see it to believe it. It's awesome dudes!

Hi tiniegil, it's in the Living Seas.

We have never been the biggest fans of Epcot, finding World Showcase a bit ho-hum and some of Future World a bit dated now. We do love Illuminations and Mission Space though. As we enjoyed the behind the scenes (Keys to Kingdom) tour of MK last year; I am going to book the Epcot tour - Undiscovered Future World in the hope that this will give us new insight and maybe a different perspective. You also get a free pass to a special viewing area for Illuminations which will be great - fancy that???
Epcot is one of our favourite parks and I am glad to be going back during the flower festival it looked fantastic. I have yet to do the living seas so that will definately be on our list this time.
Suzicue what is the Epcot tour I would love to know more about this.

It does not mention here about the pass for special area to view Illuminations later, but I read it on a recent trip report and it is definitely offered as part of this tour.
We spend the most time at Epcot, just love it as do our teenage DD's. They even did the kids masks again. Plus there's all the entertainers to see in World Showcase.
Also my favourite park.... but I think some first time visitors are knocked off balance a little because it is quite different to the other parks they've probably visited first, particularly the World Showcase side....
Take your time, look out for the entertainment at the different pavillions, have a coffee or a glass of wine, browse the stores, talk to the cast members from each country....

Epcot one of our favourite parks too. Just love it for the change of pace and the chance to leave the crowds behind as you wander round the World Showcase.

Thanks for that soozicue but DD (4) might not be that impressed. Thanks everyone else for your replys I do fancy crush, Ive been on MS and TT and loved both of them looking forward to soarin. I am just worried there will be nothing much to attract DD(4) although DH & DS(10) will love it. It was the food and wine festival while we were there last year and even that didnt attract me to the world showcase.

We really love Epcot and the World Showcase is fabulous. Mexico is my favourite closely followed by Morocco, China and Japan. I love the way they have done the ceiling in Mexico as if it is the night sky and I love the boat ride too. Roll on May, I can`t wait. :-)
