Wheelchair/ECV Rentals in the Disney theme parks

Wheelchairs and electronic convenience vehicles are available for rent at the theme parks, and each ride and show has accessible ramps and entrances. The ECV's and wheelchairs are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis, so try to arrive at the park at opening time to make sure you get one! If you intend to park hop your receipt from the rental at the first park is also good at any other park you visit on that day subject to availability. (ECVs are currently renting for $45 per day, plus a $20 refundable deposit or a photo ID as security, wheelchairs are $10 per day.)

I've used care medical to hire a manual wheelchair, service was good. The only problem we had was that the hand-grips kept coming off. It got quiet exciting at one point when DH's hand were sweaty with the heat and the grips slipped off the chair when he was pushing DD downhill...now that was a thrill ride :d:

We used Randys last time and plan to use them again this year. They leave it off wherever you wish and collect and give a short lesson on how to use and dimantle into car.

This happens to DD alot in the summer due to the heat. Very annoying though.

We have hired a bath chair for DD from care medical it was $75 for two weeks. They only thing i was not happy with was the $75 delivery/collection charge.

That's a terrible charge!

We order our chair from Randy's this year and the handles started to come loose on that one too. On our final day they had to collect the chair early so we hired one from the park, DD said it was much more comfortable and DH said it was easier to push, he only problem was that there were no chairs in the car park to get you to the park, DD can walk short distances so it was ok for us but I imagine it would be difficult for some people.

wondered what it would cost to hire a scooter at the entrance to a park if mother's knees were playing up? has anyone any idea of the daily cost in a park?

Guys,

We have always used a company called Walker Mobility. We have used them 4 times. They deliver to your villa or hotel and collect too. We hired a manual wheelchair for two weeks in November and it only cost just over a hundred dollars, which included delivery and collection. You can also hire electric scooters at approx. 4 times the cost of the manual rate.

Hope this helps!
