How much money to take??

Hi everyone - I've finally found where you are all hanging out! (Thanks Stu).  We are off to DLP on 4 June for 3 nights, and I was wondering how much money we need to take, and whether  cash or travellers cheques (or a combination) would be better?  We don't tend to buy much except food (and we have already booked and paid for the Buffalo Bill show on one evening).  Any suggestions?

I honestly can't remember how much we spent at DLP last year - but I know it seemed like a lot!

we took cash and also used our credit card a bit as well.  And we really enjoyed the Wild West show!

Credit cards are better if you have them; I don't like carrying much cash around and everywhere takes plastic.

Have a look at my trip reports on DLP - I think I put the prices of most meals in there - I remeber it seemed quite expensive at the time.

Unless you're buying loads of souvenirs or going off site then you will only need money for food - How many of you are going? - They do set price kids meals at most of the places and I think they also do a price fixe menu at the sit down places - The chicago steak house do a superb one for about 35€(I think) with 3 courses.

We take very little cash with us and use our Delta Visa card for everything else.

We also use the card to draw out extra cash if we need it at the ATM's in the park.

We got an excellent exchange rate on our Visa card, with no charges!

AMEX travelers cheques is my advice... safe as houses and every single shop accepts them as cash........ even Micky D's when you want a coffee or eleven at 0700 in the morning and you only have a $50 chq on you
