I have booked for DLP on the last week of August. Staying in the New York using DVC points. We will be there for 7 nights! We couldn't resist the cheaper train tickets, £79 return to Disney. Anyone got any tips etc for the trip ?
We must be mad, as we are going to Florida on the 13th October!
Hi,
We have done DLP in August a couple of times......were you looking for tips on anything in particular?
It can get quite hot in Paris in August so be prepared for that!!
Also the park is open very late so it can be a long day.
We have tended to do much the same as in Florida...into the park early and stay till after the afternoon parade, then back to the hotel for a rest/swim, eat early evening in the Disney village and then back to the park for the evening parade and fireworks!!

I would love to hear of your recommendations for places to eat. We are trying to do this on a budget, as we are going away again in October.
Also what happens when you get off the train, do they take your luggage to the hotel for you ?

Have you got DisneyClub membership, cos you can get discounts on admission, food and shopping with it.
No idea about the train/luggage as we have not travelled that way.
Eating on a budget in France .
There are loads of counter service restaurants in the parks which do basic fast food fare for a bit more than the price of a McDonalds.....burgers, pizza etc
In the Disney Village there is a McDonalds although it looked pretty smoky when we went in so we did not stay.
Located about a 10 min drive away is the Val d'Europe shopping mall which has several reasonable restaurants in which to eat as well as a large Carrefour supermarket. I am not sure, but I think maybe you can get a bus there, maybe someone else knows the answer to that.

I am not sure, but I think if you have booked the train via Disney, then they will take your bags to the hotel for you, and you can go directly to the park. If not, then their is a shuttle bus from the train station to the hotels. The station is right at the entrance to the park.
we didn't do it, but I believe you can get the train to the shopping centre, I think it's just one stop.
I wouldn't bother with the character meals as we found them to be a complete scrum and it was impossible to actually see the characters. The only one that wasn't like that, was the buffet restaurant in the Disneyland Hotel. (I can't remember the name) which was much more civilised, but it was expensive.
The Wild West show in the Disney village is superb - it's not cheap but it was a very good show and we really enjoyed it.

We've not long got back but we drove and stayed in the Davy Crockett
Went by EuroStar a few years ago and yes, they did take our luggage to the hotel for us. You can also drop it off at the hotel on your departure day and it gets taken to the station for you whilst you make the most of your last day in the park.
With regards to eating, my personnal faves are the Cowboy Cookout BBQ in FrontierLand and Annettes Diner in the Disney Village. Both are quite reasonably priced. We had a character breakfast in Walt's on Main Street. It was the best character meal we've had at DLP. It was quiet and well organised - which makes a pleasant change !!
With 7 nights you'll have plenty of time to do both parks. We also visited the new Val D'Europe shopping centre which also has a Sea Life Centre
