Do not go on if you are:-
a) scared of Roller Coasters
b) scared of heights
c) have suspected epilepsy
even if your girlfriend asks you to go on with her.
Yep, today Roger had to be taken out of Animal Kingdom by wheelchair and a van who took us back to the hotel so he could sleep it off.
Certainly no more rides like that for him. His doc said to avoid any rides which had an epilepsy warning. I am sure that the sign did not mention epilepsy. Maybe it was too soon after the flight, but he was OK yesterday and this morning at Epcot.
Not sure if anyone is going to want to read my trip report as it seems to be mostly about Roger being ill.
Hope you are all well.
Luv n hugs from Florida

Hope Roger is feeling better today and has no more episodes like that.
Thanks for the warning as we were thinking of taking DS2 on this. We may have to re-think our idea as DS2 has severe epilepsy.

Thanks for all your lovely messages. Roger is still not 100% so we are just taking it easy for a while. Went to MGM this morning and did a couple of shows. Had lunch at 50s Prime Time Cafe. GREAT.
Roger is now sleeping and then we are going back tonight to eat at Hollywood & Vine and then see Fantasmic.
He keeps trying to push himself but I tell him that he needs to rest or its going to be worse and I keep telling him that Disney is not going anywhere and will still be here for him to come back to to do anything we missed.

What Roger has said the problem for him was that it was very sunny and he went from bright light into pitch dark and then back to bright light a few times.
So hope that helps people who are thinking of going on it.

Yes, I'd agree there are several moments like that. I was trying to remember if there were any strobes in it, but dont recall any. Certainly the first Yeti apperance may have been a bit strobey. But I was at the last car and furthest away from it.
Most likely it may have been all the queing and standing around that had a big part in it and the ride's dark and light parts being the catayst. Now that has been pointed out, Id probably suggest it a wise precaution to wear dark glasses when riding. Overall, I didnt think the ride itself was much worse than say big thunder.... but it certainly was a bigger experience than that ride with all the effects.
Certainly there have been several rides Ive been on this week that I would suggest would be more "dangerous".
Rock'n'roller coaster, space mountain, dinosaur, spiderman, certainly had strobes in them.

I'm wondering...if the problem is strobes, and going from dark to light very quickly...how does he do Fantasmic? There are several portions in the show which have flashing lights combined with pitch blackness going off so fast, you're eyes just get basically mesmerized on the screens…at least, that’s the way I found it. There certainly is a ton of flashing lights going on for a long period of time…

hope he is better soon. I don't have his problem but I know if I go from dark to bright sunny light I end up with the migraine from hell, funnily enough Space mountain or spiderman give me really bad headaches after going on them, but I love them so much too.

I'm planning on going on this ride if I go to AK but now I'm not too sure, I'm fine with roller coasters but I don't paticullary like it if they go in loops upside down. Does that happen on this ride? because if that's the case then I just won't go anywhere near it at all

It does not go upside down. It really is very tame. I was laughing the whole time I was on it. Not scary at all....

thanks for the info think that I will probably give it a go, I thought that the dinosaur ride was a bit over hyped when I went on that a couple of years ago so it's probably more of the same

Dinosaur is quite scary for young children - but I doubt any adults would be worried by it. I found it to be one of those rides that just knock you about and litte more.
There is very little G force in Everest. As a coaster, if Big Thunder was OK, then you wont have problems with Everest. However, Everest is more an experience......It does go backwards - though not massively - and at those times it is complete darkness - you cannot see ANYTHING - until the Yeti appears.

I was at Fantasmic tonight also! Very wet wasn't it! I would imagine with the breeze that was blowing, everyone probably got a bit of a soaking. I know I did - and I was on the back row in the centre. The kids loved the show. First time I have seen a cinima screen of water!

We rode Everest on opening day, ages from 14 to 48, all had a wonderful experience, fantastic rollercoaster, different from many in the parks as it goes backwards quite a way.
Didn't notice any strobes, but the special effects are awesome, will definitely ride again before we come home.
Just read the notices before you ride, they will advise you of any special requirements.
Have a wonderful ride.

Fantasmic was fine. Yes got wet and it was cold that night. We were sat at the right at the back as I had an ECV and so we had disabled seating. There were a couple of bright light moments when Roger did put his sun glasses on.
