My friend has just come home from Flordia and she said this ride was fantastic, she rode it three times and twice rode in the back car, she said that each time she rode at the back her neck was thrown around and she feels someone could get a nasty neck injury from this, so if any of you are planning to do this ride don't ride in the back car ;)
As for me riding it....the jury's still out ;)
Go on. You have lots of days to get yer self ready!
For me the Jury verdict is quilty - as charged.

We were riding in the back car the very last row. Maybe that is why Roger had such a bad reaction to the ride.
I went in with my ECV and it was the last row that they put us into. That should be looked at because people who use wheelchairs or ECV's perhaps cant manage the extra forces the back row puts on you.
Might be something for someone to point out to Disney.

I was wondering this Lil Missy when you metioned Roger's experience, its certainly something to look at. My friend said she loved the ride overall but would not ride at the back again because of the way her head and neck were yanked around :(

does this ride have the restraints across your lap?
does this ride have the restraints across your lap?
It uses the normal lap type restraint.
I rode in the very back seat today (I hadnt seen this thread) and thought it was fine.
I certainly throws you about a fair bit when it done the backward bit. I lost all orientation. Wasnt sure if I was going forward, backward or wherever.
Its not a roller coaster scary ride IMHO. The ride itself is quite tame at least comparing with say rock'n'rollercoaster. But its the complete darkness that does it. I really didnt have a clue what was happening. It would certainly be scary for youngsters - even without th appearance of the yeti!
I'm just upoading my Animal Kingdom photos right now, so there is a fair selection of Everest photos (including on the ride - and one of me in the back seat! (http://www.florida.photoquest.co.uk/v/animal/DSC00807.JPG.html?g2_navId=xe1c14e34))

I find all these types of rides (Hulk, RnRRC, Duelling Dragons..etc) are more fierce in the back row and aggrevate my neck injury.

I am still not sure as to whether I want to ride this or not, how does it compare to say the mummy? I hated that ride more so because it was in the dark and I hated it as I couldn't see what was happening. I can just about stand thunder mountain although I think that throws you around a bit.

The Mummy is definely much faster than Everest. As Ive said, its not much fiercer than Thunder Mountain - but it is scarier because of the darkness and going backwards. Personaly I think its a nice ride but may be scary because of the fierce Yeti's appearance and darkness to small kids.
