Disney offers Jedi training

Walt Disney World is testing a new Jedi Academy training attraction mixing face characters and young visitors outdoors at Disney-MGM Studios.

On select days, several times a day, actors depicting Star Wars characters invite up to a dozen children to take part in Jedi training exercises in the Star Tours ride.

With padawan robes and training light sabers, the children are taught moves and how to use "The Force." Actors playing Darth Vader or Darth Maul then enter the area and try to use the "Dark Side."

Disney spokesman Gary Buchanan said the sidewalk attraction is being tested to see if it should be added daily and full time during the park's annual Star Wars weekends in May and June.

Do you think the CM's would be pursuaded with a basic Jedi mind trick?

'You do not need to see my ID, I am under 18, I want to be a padawan learner'

Then again, i'd probably end up being arrested:confused2

Our 2 boys did this in 2004 and it was priceless ! It brought tears to my eyes as they were so happy. When they said " i feel a disturbance in the force " and the kids got to light saber train with Darth Vader and Darth Maul their faces were unbelievable , there is not enough money in the world to buy the sheer pleasure they got out of that ! The times are posted and just get to the front and be very enthusiastic, our kids even got gifts and a certificate.

It's usually all day Saturday & Sunday with events taking place on various times during the day.

I know that last year a certain number of the WWTBAM games were Star WArs themed ( I think it may have ben alternative ones but not 100% sure)

There were meet & Greets with the guests and these were fast passed so needed to get their early.

Everything else just takes place over the day - the star wars characters are out and about most of the time.

Theres a timetable of the 2004 even t at the bottom of this -http://allearsnet.com/tp/mgm/m_starwars.htm- which will give you a rough idea

found this link, hope it works

tried link my self does not work

My DD was a padawan learner in 04, problem was my DS is the Star Wars fan Oh Well.

She faught Darth Maul, when it was over they all recieved an award and a Darth Maul figure (Still got it in its packaging as its US exclusive), while we were there we were accosted by two Tusken Raiders scared the living daylights out of my DW.

If your kids like the stormtroopers get their autograph they will sign there TK number, most of them are members of the Florida 501st Garrisson and this year some will be from the 501st UK Garrisson.

They are not actors they have constructed their own costumes, The Lucky *****
