Going to be in Orlando for Christmas this year for the first time. While we don't normally do many ADRs ( just 1 last visit - breakfast at Chef Mickeys) we understand it might be a good idea to make arrangements for Christmas day.

Will we need to be on the phone 180 days before christmas making our ADR or will we have a bit longer to decide what we want to do ?.

Are all the menus on Christmas day the normal menus at the usual prices ?.

Guess we might need one on Boxing day as well. We're staying out on the 27 a not really sure what will be open on Christmas day itself ?.

Thanks.

Christmas is very busy, would suggest ADR book at 180 days mark.Disney now
withhold a large percentage of adr for Disney Dining Plan guests.

We will also be there for our first Christmas and it seems that you really do need to make ADR's over the Christmas period. If you are staying on site it might be worth making some for each day - If you decided not to eat in the restaurant you can always cancel but I have heard stories of queues of well over an hour for counter service in the parks :erm:

Some restaurants do Christmas menus on Christmas Eve and Christmas day this link (http://allearsnet.com/menu/men_christmas.htm) to Allears shows some of the menus from last year :xmassign: :snow_grin

I forgot to add that you will need to be on the phone exactly 180 days beforehand which for Christmas Day would be 28th June. Don't forget that if you are staying on-site you can make ADR's on the first day you check in plus for the following 10 days so try and make them before 28th June.

Check out PS Calculator (http://pscalculator.net/allearsnet/pscalcae.php) to work out the exact dates

cat - Boxing Day is not a holiday in the US, but as others have posted, it is generally much busier at that time of year - so an ADR is a good idea.

Thanks,

Thought we'd need to be on the phone straight away. Not staying onsite at all this time so will have to ring on the 28th June. Just need to decide where to book now. Guess we should probably book ADRs for the 24th through to the 26th then.

Are the resort resturants just as busy at this time ?.

Hi Cat
We too are staying over the Christmas period so even now I am carefully planning my ADRs for this time.

A few weeks ago I phoned to book my ADRs for my Aug trip and just happened to ask when I should start phoning for the Christmas ones. The assistant actually stated I should start phoning from 17th June. She told me it was a very busy time of year and to get exactly what you want start phoning then. I have marked it on my calendar and have also set reminders on my phone, just in case I forget;)

I guess because you are staying onsite you can ring from the 17th ?.

If you are not staying on site but plan to be in the parks from the 24th - 26th then just book some ADR's for these dates. Eating off site shouldn't be anywhere as busy. The resort resturants will be just as popular as the ones in the parks

This wasn't mentioned as I didn't tell her I was staying onsite.
