Is there going to be somewhere to watch the match? We're away for the first two games, that are on at 9am and noon local time?

Hi
When we were away and wanted to watch the football, world Cup Qualifiers, we watched them at Disney World of Sports Complex.
Loved it and would go there again. Food was great, huge portions and no problems seeing the big screens

If I mentioned watching football to the wife, no matter if it was the World Cup Final, she would batter me! There is no way she would understand paying to go on holiday to Florida, and then sitting in a smoky copy of an English or "Oirish" pub, surrounded by Brits in Nylon replica football shirts (and sometime shorts and socks...) watching football....!
Would get the same result as her asking to watch the episode of Coronation Street where Mike Baldwin dies...

lol:pgig:
It's England in the world cup! It only happens once every four years. (Sometimes less with the team we've got!) WDW is there all the time.
Anyway i'm being very nice, and i've decided to let DH come with me to watch:pgig: :pgig: :pgig:

when we have stayed near west 192 or down the 27 I have always gone to Beef O Bradys family sports pub. they have loads of TVs showing all kind of sports .. we watched a few champions league games there.. they have two big screens and lots of TVs.
very nice airy place with the scrummiest buffalo chicken strips I have ever had .. great service
They even have tvs in the loo so you dont miss anything ;)

If you find the one that you want you can phone to see if they are showing the games .. though I think they will be :)
not sure if there is a cover charge as there wasn't for the games we saw but the first time I went they were showing a Manchester United game live and charging $10 but the Liverpool game I wanted to watch was on later and free
the second time they had a chelsea game and a liverpool game on at the same time (different ends of the place) and didn't charge us anything.

hi
coconut willies on west 192 also show english sport, so do harry ramsbottoms on 192 east:grin:
Prince of Wales Pub on US27 also shows English football, although I did find out that we could get ESPN2 in the villa and this showed some Champions League games so may also show the World Cup games.

oh dear, i'd let you watch. cant miss the world cup for anything. was gutted when i thought i was going to miss it. then found several places will be showing the games.
what bad planning bookin a holiday in florida during the world cup:d: :d:
i agree that disney will be there for the future and the world cup only happens once every four years but how upset would you be if you missed england winning :mad2: so good luck with what ever you decide

It wasn't my planning! My friend is getting married so we have to be there for that particular day.:confused2
What's even more annoying is the fact that i've got a brother in the Army, who just happens to live in Germany, really close to Munchen Gladback stadium. So we could of actually gone to Germany for free and seen one or more of the matches.:mad2:

Having talked with a couple of American friends, it appears ABC have the TV rights in the States. They'll be showing every game, either on ABC or ESPN2. Could anyone confirm this? Also, would most hotels have ESPN2 as standard in the rooms?

Crazy dude...! We booked our holidy early enough, so I can enjoy the footie in a UK pub, although to be fair, after the initial phase, I may wanna be back in Florida

It's been confirmed on another thread that every world cup match will be on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN2.
