Can anyone recommend where's best to watch the fireworks and parades at the various parks? Preferably, we don't want to have to stake our pitch an hour beforehand as I don't think the kids will want to have to wait around. A couple of years ago we watched the Wishes from where the boat drops you off, but the CM's tried to move us on. This year we're staying "on site" so it won't be such a rush to get back - I hope. Also, as we are Resort Guests and are able to stay for Magic Hours, if we're not visiting say, Magic Kingdom during the day, but want to go for the evening magic hours, I assume we just show our Resort ID at TTC?

Thanx for any advice.

We found the best place for Wishes was right in the middle of Main Street outside Crystal Palace.

Is anywhere a good place!

If you are realy lucky the ferry is good. If you splash some cash then hiring a boat is great. We did this in 2004 and had food provided. It rained all night but our pilot was great and we got to see both Epcot and MK and the lights that pass on the lake past the hotels (sorry cant remember what they were called) with no problems trying to get a Monorail at the end due to crowds. It was a great way to end our holiday.

we have booked an ADR at the Rose and Crown to watch illuminations (EPCOT), we have tried all sorts of positions in the Magic Kingdom (stop making up your own jokes!!:d: ) last year we stood in middle of main st by the ice cream parlour and it was the best position to see everything, even saw Tinkerbelles flight which we have missed from every other angle

We have booked fantasmic dinner package at Hollywood and Vine(MGM) to get a guaranteed seat in the show without queueing up for hours too

How soon before the fireworks are to start should we go get in place?

We watched Wishes from the balcony of the railway station at the bottom of Main Street. This is a great spot but you do need to get there early to be at the front. The good news is that there are tables and chairs up there so you can be comfortable and have a snack or a drink while you wait.

The porch at Crystal Palace is also a good spot, as you are slightly elevated you can see over the heads of anyone standing in front, especially good for little ones. There is also a good view of Tinkerbell from there.

The view of Wishes can be superb from the ferry or monorail, and it does give you a head start on the crowds who will exit as soon as the fireworks end, but you do lose the impact of the soundtrack. Sometimes the monorail drivers will stop to let passengers enjoy the display.

Illuminations is best viewed from the patio at the Rose & Crown, although there are many good places around the lagoon too. Take into account which way the smoke will blow when choosing your spot.
