Disabled Electric scooter on the MK ferry

Wow, questions are starting to pop into my head at an alarming rate, I will try not to be a pest.:o:

Simple question - can my mother use her scooter and the ferry or does the disabled parking / scooter stop this?

Having been single and 10 years younger the last time I did this I am now stressing...I've never organised for 6 people, including disabled elderly and a newly diagnosed peanut allergic daughter (found out yesterday!).

as far as i can remember we took the wheelchair (not scooter) on the ferry with no problem, that was a couple of years ago so someone will probably be along soon with more information for you

Hi, I dont know about disabled parking but I have seen Elec scooters on all the Disney transport. I think you can park by the entrance to Mk near to the bus terminus. If your Mum wants to travel on the ferry she can and get the monorail back to Mk.

Disabled parking at Mk is at the same car park as the rest, quite a walk if you have walking difficulties. Your Mother would need to use the monorail or ferry. I'm not sure if the ferry is accessible for scooters, I think it depends on the water level:confused2

The monorail has quite a steep incline to get to the platforms but the CM's bring a ramp to manoevere onto the monorail, then radio ahead to make sure they are ready at the other end for you.

Yes Caron is right, it depends on the water level with the ferries and boats at WDW. I didn't use the ferry, but did use the EPCOT friendship boats with no problems, so imagine she would be OK unless the water was very low.

On the monorail it is a bit tight getting on in a scooter, especially if there are other scooters as well, but it can be done, just needs a bit of patience, you may have to back off the monorail if you are blocking someones way out if they want to get off at the stop before you, then you have to drive back on again, bit of a pain (especially to a novice scooter rider as I was!) but we got there in the end!

Don't worry, I'm sure your trip will be fine, WDW is the best place in the World to travel with the disabled or anyone with any 'special needs'. :D
