I've never been one for eating in the parks. I usually like to get there early and around lunch time, leave the park go back to the villa or get something to eat and then go back in the evening for the shows. So I can't help, but this year I've been keeping a list of all the restaurants people have been recommending, and there isn't one at Seaworld!!

Alex, we just returned and had a fab meal called 'Dine with Shamu', which is a restaurant area that has replaced the old Up Close with Shamu area if you are familiar with SW. #Basically, a dining area is set up around one of the pools at the back of the Shamu stadium, serving only at 4.15pm or 7.30pm. #You need to book via Guest Services, AS SOON AS YOU GET TO THE PARK, and are issued with a pass to return for your sitting. #Your table is about 2 foot from the waters edge, and the trainers do a short training session in front of you whilst you dine (an OK buffet), with the whales coming right up to your tables edge. #It truly is an exceptional experience if you like all things Shamu! #My kids put it as their No. 1 experience of the whole holiday. #The price is not cheap, I think $29 adult $18 kids, but comparable to any other 'feature' restaurant, i.e Rainforest Cafe. #You are also allowed to take cameras/videos. #Hope this helps!
That sounds good Paula - another one on my list for next time .

Paula
I like the sound of this, can you book in advance or does it have to be on the day of your visit to SeaWorld?
Thanks
Helen .

Sorry for the long delay in replying - I can't seem to catch up with myself - or the washing - since we returned! #Anyway, I think you can only book once you are in the park, but I wouldn't swear by it.
Just checked out the Seaworld website, looks like you can book in advance, there is a telephone no. to do so.

Good luck, let me know how you get on!

I've booked for this by phone for December after Paula's recommendation and checking it out on other boards. They couldn't give me a time as they are not settled for December yet but said it would be a dinner meal. I'm not sure how that will work as SW usually closes at 5.00 in early December from what I can gather. They also said I have to show up at the park early to be allocated a table and a time. It seems a bit disorganised at the moment and I would prefer to have had a time to work around but never mind, I am sure it will be worth it. By the way they took my credit card number in case I don't show but won't charge it until the day.
WOW!
Thanks for the info Paula - I may consider it although at about $100 + for 4 of us it's a bit pricey.

That sounds like fun - might try that next year.
My fave counter service eatery is the SmokeHouse BBQ !

They have just opened a new one Shark's Underwater Grill. We intended to eat there last week but we hadn't made a reservation and the wait time appeared to be fairly long. It seemed to be predominantly seafood but other things were available. It had viewing areas into the new shark attraction.
