I,ve 2 questions to ask:

1) Where does Chicken Little hang out, as I would like to meet him, when I go to Dlp?.

2) Is there more characters at Dlp, then Walt Disney World in Florida?.

Hi Jeremy

I don't know about your first question but in answer to your second we found loads more characters at WDW than DLP.

We were there in March this year and the only place Chicken Little could be seen was inside the Studios park. If I remember correctly he was on the right as you enter the main park.
The majority of the character meet 'n' greets in Disneyland Park are totaly un-organised people push in from left right and centre (some very rude people) and dont care if they push your children out of the way to get their kids in front.

I find there are far more characters just wandering about at DLP. They have the organised meet and greet sessions, but characters just appear and it is a bit of a free for all but if you come across them in a quiet area then you can get some great interactions and photos. We had the best character interactions ever at DLP halloween party last year, Mickey was even chasing my DD trying to give her a kiss, and all the characters were dancing with the kids...it was fantastic! In WDW I have found that to see the characters you always need to wait in line (unless at a meal) and then it's a bit like a conveyor belt. In DLP we have had really spontaneous interactions!

There are more characters in DLP as it is likely that you will come across one or two randomly whilst walking around the parks. If your staying on site then they are in the hotels as well. Chip and Dale are always found in the Sequoia, and around 8/9pm some come out wearing pj's as they will be off to bed!

i agree with most of you comments and i dont mean to have a go at you but we found the WDW was much better as you know that you kids will get to see the character and their autograph/picture.
at DLRP we found it was just to unorganised and a free for all,:mad2: we have brought our kids up to wait their turn and trying to get them to see the charecters in DLRP was a knightmare they kept standing waiting. at one stage people pushing and shoving got so much the characters got fed up and walked away my DD was gutted  she loves toy story and was waiting to see jessie and woody but people including adults forcing thier kids infront of other people including one girl who was in a wheelchair we were disgusted with the behavour of some.
moral of the story is if you cannot beat (some i would have love to ) them then join them or miss out

I totally agree with you Gaz! DD and her friend were pushed, shoved and kicked out of the way by other children - and adults determined to get their little Darlings into the throng of the crowd!:nonono: One boy of about 9 or 10 even punched me in the chest to get me out of the way - his mother just looked at me as if it was my fault to dare get inbetween him and Mickey!:mad2: In the 4 days we were there we didn't once manage to get Mickey's autograph or picture! The rudeness and total lack of organisation at the character meet and greets is the one thing that puts me off going back! You wouldn't see that sort of behaviour in WDW!

weve been to DLP 3 times, but only 2 with young children,i wouldnt take mine there again until they were big enough to almost "stand their ground" so to speak.Weve been to WDW 3 times as a family and never suffered any rudeness at all.Getting the characters autographs at DLP were a nightmare imho

I agree, DLP is a real fight when the characters appear. My DS &DD have also been taught to wait but were constantly pushe and shoved out of the way. It is not just the Europeans though, the worst was an English woman who pushed my DS with 2 hands to get hers in front. This is the one time my Disney spirit slipped and words were exchanged:nonono:. Not what you want or expect outside Cinderella's castle:mad2: .

This is the same when it comes to parades as well unfortunately. I have assured my DW that WDW is far more tolerant and polite. But as it's been many years since I was last there I'm hoping it's still the case.

DLP is worth a visit but this kind of behaviour does taint it!. WDW Here we come:jump:

I agree about the pushing for autographs, and also the pushing to the front during the parade, and also the queue jumpers - need I go on? We go next week and I'm glad my two are older now - 12 and nearly 16 - so they can stand their ground, and won't bother getting autographs, so that's one less thing to worry about. It's not WDW but we know what it is, and are prepared for it, so hopefully we will have a good time - just praying for no rain! :D

CM's dont stop people fighting to get the near the characters unless it gets a bit out of hand... I saw 2 kids I (think they were French) fighting and the CM with Mickey just said they had to go ... and off they were

if you get queue jumped in a ride, then don't be afaird to go and do the polite thing, return to your rightful place by jumping them! ha!

i agree with what has been said above about the pushing and shoving, we have been to DLP 3 times with DS 4 and were horrified at the carry on and the parents are the worst.

we found that the best way to deal with it if you have children was to stand in what we would determain a queue, keep your eye what child is in front of yours and every so often saying to your child " its ok we are going to queue and you will be after (whoever the child with the blue t shirt ). we kept the re assurance with " you are being really good being patient and its your turn soon. we found the charecters amazingly responsive as my son was desperate for autographs but hated the chaos. in doing the above he had Sulley, scrooge macduck, woody and many others make space for him for autographs and photos, they were very obvious in their gestures that others had to keep their distance.

we kept either DH or myself with him at all times, if you have younger children hold them infront of the charecters line of vision, if they are older stand with them and offer reassurance, if you are adults on your own hold your ground and be very obvious that you are not going to tolerate the rudeness or chaos.

above all totally enjoy all that said it is fab and we are returning in 2007.

would recommend early sittings at charecter meal for excellent photo and autograph oppertunities

enjoy

We found it hard with DS2 and getting autographs and photos. It was only that he had a special badge to wear last time (Make a Wish trip) that the characters focussed on him. Even though he was in a wheelchair parents shoved their children in front of him :nonono: Never had anything like this happen at WDW.

I can't see us ever returning to DLP because of this and all the smokers every where:(

This weekend Chicken Little was in Disney Studios. Turn right as you enter and you'll see a little chicken house near to the Monsters' Inc scream meters.

I think there are definitely less characters in DLP compared with WDW.

As previous posts say, it's just not worth trying to meet them nevermind try and get an autograph.

We save that for the 'real' WDW!

I love going to DLP (even got an annual pass), but the pushing & shoving, smoking, queue jumping and general chaos really grates sometimes. Surely Disney could employ cast members who actually give a toss!

We also found it impossible, as two adults on our own, to get to meet any of the characters so we just gave up. In contrast during our trip to WDW this month we got over 40 autographs and even more photos!

The pushing and shoving makes DF reluctant to go back but I feel I will need my Disney fix as we can't get back to Florida until 2009 :(
