Does anyone know anything about Cirque de la Mer?
I've got a book in front of me saying 'This is mostly a confused and shameless ripoff of Cirque du Soleil. But its redeemed by the wacky mime antics of Peruvian comic Ceasar Aedo, whose audience participation stunts are gunuinely funny'
But what it doesn't say is where it is?
So what do the Dibbers know??

There is a similar "cirque-esq" type show in seaworld - but the name escapes me.

How old is the book? I believe that Odyssea used to be called Cirque de la Mer (but more than 2 or 3 years ago)

It look's like it's 2004 but my mother-in-law only bought it this weekend.

This was taken from Mouseblog, dated July 21st 2003. Seems like the book your Mum bought may be a bit out of date ;)

ORLANDO BITS
Orlando Sentinel - Jul 21 2003

Minor goings-on in the Orlando area. First, the Kennedy Space Center is adding a souvenir shop to the Orlando airport. While this may not be all that exciting, it may increase awareness of the attraction, so it might be a good idea.

Second, the Pirate's Dinner Adventure has added an after-dinner disco to their meal where guests can boogie down and chat with stars of the show. The Buccaneer Bash will be included with the price of the dinner and show.

Third, SeaWorld's popular Cirque de la Mer has been replaced by a new circus-like show called Odyssea. Yes, CdlM was circusy too, so people will have to see it to see how much of it is actually new.

cirque de la mer was indeed at seawolrd orlando and was replaced two years ago with odyssea.
it has mainly the same performers but the main guy is now taken on a journey under the sea and around the world.
the highlights for me are the penquins and the quite remarkable corals.
i prefer it to other circus shows as each act is only 5 or 8 minutes. there is only so much fire eating and swing about you can handle.

We saw Cirque da la Mer at Seaworld in 2002, and Oddysea this year. They were both brilliant.:)

oooh, everyone else beat me to it! LOL

Cirque de la Mer used to be at Seaworld Orlando until a a good few years ago when it was replaced by Odyssea.
You can see Cirque de la Mer at Seaworld San Diego, although it is a completely different show to the one that used to be in Orlando.
