View Full Version : Fantasmic in October
Hi just wondered how busy Fantasmic gets in October and is it worth doing the dinner/entry into Fantasmic package.
Thanks:wavey:

Hi jds
We went in October 2004 and found it quite busy. Saying that, my DH is very impatient, so rather than go straight to the reserved seating area after we had eaten, we had to try a couple more rides. By the time we got to the seating area (about 15-20 minutes before the start) we were quite a way back, but we still had a good view and no-one was squashed.
We are doing it again this October, and will probably leave it as late as we can before sitting down. This will reduce the amount of nagging from the children - "when will it start mum", and also means it's a relatively quick exit after the show.
By doing the Fantasmic package you are pretty much guaranteed a seat, and if you're going to eat in the park you might as well do the package. We ate at Hollywood & Vine which I thought was great.:wavey:

we went in Oct last year without doing the dining package, and even though we went into the stadium about an hour and a half before the show started, we were still around half way up, and the stadium seemd full for the show.
There is only one show per night in Oct so perhaps this makes it busier.
If you're staying on-site, when they have the evening Extra Magic Hours at Disney Studios there could be an extra showing of Fantasmic. We got this last year in September and I'm hoping the same thing will happen in October this year. It was still busy, but not as busy as the earlier show.

We went in October 2004 and 2005 - there was only one Fantasmic each day and it did seem to get quite busy (except for the night of the heavy rain!). We did the Fantasmic Dinner Package and got great seats to see the show.

We were thinking of doing the dinner package in October but was wondering if my two DDs would sit through the show. DD1 will be 7 and DD2 4 when we are there in October.
Advice please.

I am going to do a Fantasmic Diner Package this time round but wonder if I have left it late to make an ADR for beginning of October or do you think I will be okay?
The reason I wan't to do it this time round is that last time we were in line for what seemed a very long time and managed to get an okay seat in the middle about 3/4 of the way back but the heavens opened and the show was cancelled. The stampede out of their in poring rain was an experience I won['t forget:confused2 We decided we would go back another night so made a special visit back to MGM one night purely for this to find if was even busier this time round - probably cause there were lots of people like us - trying again. We could not get a seat and had to stand at the very back with kids aged 4, 5 & 8:erm: The two little ones we held up in front of our faces - couldn't put them on our shoulders as it would block the view of others behind us and poor eldest son - never really seen anything of it. He did try to sit squashed in to a seat at the aisle but was moved on :( I feel my and DH never really got to see it because of holding up the little ones also my back was killing me!
So this time I want to do the package so we can get guaranteed seating and also I believe a slightly quicker exit from the theatre:thumbs-up
I understand if the weather is bad again that we don't have any come back but we will still have enjoyed a nice meal ;)
by the way the last time I was talking about was in October aswell
We went in October and couldn't get a seat. We had to stand right at the back and couldn't see properly. It was so busy!

I have been in October twice and never booked a package, always got near the centre section but then again we go early and eat snacks etc..
If it rains you still don't get to see Fantasmic
and from other posts I have read, you still have to exit with the rest of the throng.
If you intended eating an early evening meal in MGM, in one of the restaurants that does this, then I would book the package..
