Unfortunatly we can't afford to go to Florida next year so we have booked a week in lanzarote with first choice staying at los Zocos Club Appartments on a full inclusive basis.

Has anyone stayed here and what are the best places to visit?

Thanks Jo

Check out the forum on lanzarote.com.

If you do a search for Los Zocos you will find plenty of information. From what I remember reading it is well thought of.

Have been to Lanzarote 5 times and we love it.

These are the best places to visit.

Fire Mountain
Jameos del Agua
Cuevas los Verdes
Mirador del Rio

There are lots of other things to do as well. The site I mention above will give you lots of info.

It's a great island (as are the other Canaries), lots of heat, beaches etc.

Have fun

The problem with the canaries is that everyone is so different. Personally myself and my family prefer Gran Canaria (avoiding playa de los ingles) and Tenerife (avoiding Las Americas and Los Cristianos). Lanzarote is my least favourite island because its very windy and there does seem to be less to do. I'm not a big beach person as i'm so fair skinned so I like things to do.
However I would prefer parts of Lanzarote to going to Las Americas in Tenerife.
Yet my dbf's parents love Lanzarote best followed by the South of Tenerife ( I can't imagine them with all the teeny boppers looking for Blackpool alikes). I have never been to the location you're going to but I think the island choice really depends on what you like.
However you can't beat the canaries for warmth and nice cheap meals and drinks!!

Went to Lanzarote once and it absolutely threw it down for the entire week. The sun came out about 3 or 4 hours before we were due to come home so we sat outside a bar and got a great tan. Nobody believed us about the rain.
We hired a car for the week and did about three laps of the island using about a gallon of petrol.
Haven't been back since but we do know a fair few people who go regularly and they think its great.

we've stayed at Costa Teguise a couple of times and loved it. Definately my favourite Canary resort. People are friendly and there's loads to see and do as listed previously, have a great time!!!

A trip to the Fire mountain is also well worth it. Have a good 'en

We visited the Los Zocos while staying at the Beatriz and Spa which is about a ten minute walk from where you will be staying. We were there in March and are going again on 8th June we love costa Teguise.
There is a bank right across the road from the hotel which charges no commision when you change travelers cheques. Nice beach just behind the bank. If you walk to the right along the coastal path you will come to a lovely small sandy bay Jabillo? Timafaya National park is worth a visit. Just right outside the Los Zocos you can catch a bus into Peurto Del Carmen which has lots of shops. You could then walk back as far as Matagorda and watch the planes landing. You can stand right beside the runway, just a wire fence.
Hope you have a lovely time.

We went in 2001 and I was pleasantly surprised, stayed in Matagorda and had a wonderful time

Pretty Good place and quite acentral location as well. In myview the best of the islands. Make sure you visit Timanfaya national park (the lava fields and volcano). Shan't spoil it by telling you other than it's impressive.

The island is also tax free which is weird when its part of spain but its treated like our channel islands so you can get duty free on the flight and on the island. Word of warning though - if you rent a car get it from the reputable hire companies as the smaller guys are a bit dodgy!

We have a holiday ownership apartment in Lanzarote and go at least once every year. Needless to say we love it. We are in quite part of Puerto Del Carmen( yes it's true!). We have the beaches, shops and brilliant restaurants a short walk away. Be sure to visit Lanis restaurants, they have a chain on the island all serving different nationalities of food, highly recommended.

We stayed in Costa Teguise in 2000.

Nice clean resort - a little windy though.
