After our wedding vow renewal on New Years Day, we'd like to go to the California Grill, hopefully get a window seat for Wishes, and have a nice meal to round the day off.
A couple of questions, if you don't mind
1) Is it child friendly- I know they do a child's menu but is it a bit hush hush and posh for 2 boys aged 9 and 11?
2) Is the service really good? When I go out for a special meal, good service makes it all the more special.
Hope someone can help.
Any other suggestions for a cracking celebratory meal?

we went here on one of our nights a few weeks ago. The setting is ok, not a posh posh restaurant but you will see a few people dressed to the max! The view from the walkway is stunning, not to be missed when the fireworks start.

The food was average, I had sushi and that was dry and tasteless, my partner had steak and it was cold, although very tasty.

There are certainly better places to eat, but I am glad we did it.

PS: Getting to the top floor in the lifts is a nightmare! And getting back down them again at the end of the fireworks is even worse, just 2 lifts serving the whole floor. Take a parachute and jump, its much quicker :spin: :spin:

We went there last year with our DD age 8 and we had a very nice meal the food was good and DD who is quite fussy manage to find something off the children's menu.
We are going again this year for the fireworks but have also planned to go to a couple of other restaurants we rated higher than CG last year namely Citriccos and Artist Point as well as trying Victoria and Alberts.

We had a great time - wonderful food and incredible service :D

I had the goats cheese ravioli followed by the chilli rubbed free range chicken, my fiance had the mushroom and cheese flatbread followed by pork tenderloin. We both agreed that while our entrees were very good, the appetizers were to die for!

I have to say, we didn't experience any problems with the lifts either - we were alone going up and coming back down, and we had reservations for an hour before Wishes began :)

Oh, and we were celebrating our anniversary and we were made to feel so special by everyone we spoke to there!

In October both the food and the service were excellent Lin! :)
In January we were hoping for the same - sadly the service was below-par and the food mediocre :(

Your boys certainly wouldn't be out of place - there were lots of children.

I'll give it another go, just not for a bit. Too many others to try :tounge:

I agree with Jen - the goats cheese ravioli is lovely!

I went for that after reading your review, Sue!
